Meh. Can't be too upset about that result in isolation because it's exactly what was expected. We've got one hell of a slog ahead of us to get through these next couple of months.

Maybe we've been spoiled in the last few seasons but I just can't get over how far and how quickly we've fallen. Hopefully we see the real Liverpool again next season.

You can't expect to compete against a team like Madrid with that midfield. It's nigh on impossible unless you take all your chances. We didn't do enough in the final third and had to rely on Ali to save the day a lot. At least we haven't been embarrassed.

Not looking good for City and Chelsea away.
