bringing form to the match table and competing with the younger generation of the snooker world is something jimmy will unfortunatly never do again.as spectators of this brilliant sport we have just got accept his career was over some years ago im sad to say...great player in his time tho!  jimmy prove me wrong please! any guys on rawk going to pontins for snooker week may 8th?
Anyone just see the interview with the Whirlwind on Inside Sport?

Reckons he can still compete at the very highest level and has moved up 20 odd places this year in the rankings. Would be great to see him back on the big stage again.

Can't wait for the World's now.

ive ''heard'' hawkins is on the same boat as these two...infact a guy who won alot of cash recently! stay clear punting on hawkins...
Wasn’t it in a game between Maguire and Burnett which Burnett clearly missed on purpose (allegedly)?

Really think Neil Robertson has the game to win it if keeping it together.
Bit inconsistent but we've seen in recent years that getting to the final is well within the reach of any player who gets on a roll, and Robertson on a roll is better than the vast majority.
Should beat the Nugget in the first round...tough one against Carter possibly in the last 16, but if he gets through that I'd fancy him against Maguire in the quarters (if he gets there). Maguire just doesn't seem to hold it together.
Having won those 2 ranking events last season, I was convinced Robertson was a champion in the making.
Ronnie, Higgins and Selby are all in the othe half so it's a good chance for him

Bingham giving Ronnie a few things to think about here.

Ronnie still leads 7-5 with 1 more frame to play before the mid session.

Think it can be any marks, dust etc on the cueball. Not sure of the science behind, they did a feature on it a couple of years back.

Ronnie against Allen looks like a good game coming up in the second round.

Hendry 4-6 Williams at the moment. Will be good this. Come on Hendry!

Awful standard here in the Hendry-Williams match.
So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

Hendry in the balls here. Should clinch this frame but these days Hendry can miss some easy balls. Good chance though.

Yeah I was hoping it was going to that would have been interesting.

Hendry at his best would be fine in this situation but he has been way off that tonight.  Hopefully the standard ups a notch now.

The tip has really finished off Williams here. I'd expect anyone inside the top 100 to clear from where the balls were there.

Hendry himself looks very poor although he has upped his game a bit over the last couple of frames.

9-7 Hendry but again he doesnt close the frame out in one visit. Should he progress he'll need to up his game quite a bit in the next round.

That was a very strange frame.

Williams doesn't look to be capable of pulling this one off, maybe the tip you mentioned is crippling his game.  But to be fair he is making some odd mistakes.

Did a few quid on Marco Fu each way to win the tournament @ 33/1.

If he brings his 'A' game then he will be very tough to beat. He's in the easier half of the draw and as a competitior he is gritty as fuck which is huge when you get down to the business end. Hope he can get off to a decent start tomorrow. Finally showing his true class lately with the Grand Prix win last year and his near miss in the UK Championship this season.

Anyone else had a flutter on the outright winners market?

I'm on exactly the same.

I've also had a punt on Allen @ 40's. Really impressed me at times yesterday and if he can get some consistency to his game, he's a danger. It's just a shitter that he's got Ronnie next round.

Perry the first seed knocked out. Good win for Cope, first win at the Crucible for him.

Perry kept breaking down on 40 or 50 and Cope kept punishing him with some very impressive clearances.
