Someone should set up another boxing draft so I can spend the quarantine writing a 10,000 word essay on Benny Leonard or something.

Been a while since we did mate. Lawnmowerman is still our reigning champion.  ;D

We did three of them but interest outside our core boxing lads was very little. For a draft to work you'd need the other fuckers involved too.

Jack Dempsey was champion at a few weights but I think this is wrong as I’m sure he was heavyweight.

It’s a tricky one and probably kick myself when you reveal the names !

Dempsey is correct in at 7.

Quote
He fought from 1883 to 1895 with a pro record of 51-4-11 with 23 Kos. Dempsey’s middleweight championship reign lasted for six years, six months and 15 days and he defended his title just three times. He was named the inaugural Middleweight Champion on July 30th, 1884 and reigned until losing his title to Bob Fitzsimmons when he was stopped in the 13th round in January of 1891.

The only reason I named him was because heavyweights weren’t big in them days plus not as many weight divisions.

I fluked it really as it was pure guess work but it’s off the list now.

Yeah back in the late 1800's and early 1900's Middweight-Heavyweight wasn't that much and you had fighters going up and down.

I am guessing he is a controversial figure then !

I was tempted to say Cotto but I’m not sure he was around at WW that long and he lost a few at that weight I think.
