Apologies for spazzing up the PMs - it was very early in the morning.
Now, couple of questions - where exactly are we playing? Where are we meeting? Where is the supporters' bar where we're gonna get inebriated? Veterans for oppo means over-35s, right?
Up to now I haven't wanted to hassle Luca too much about details, he says he's got it all in hand - don't worry he has organised several such matches for visiting supporters' teams over the past few years (though this is the first time the match will accompany a CL game !). And Monday 9pm is a regular Kick off time for his boys anyway so if he says he has no doubts about the pitch, then he has no doubts about the pitch...
But I'll ask him for details this week so we know the best place to organise our 7pm meet-up. It may well be at the bar by nearest tube stop to our hotel, or it may not.
I'm assuming that he will offer us lifts to the ground (and back to the pub after) in several of their players' cars again like 2 years ago, but we will make sure all the details and maps etc are on here for anyone who accidentally misses the meet up or may need to dash up there at the last minute 'cos of flight times.
What does 'veterans' mean ? Dunno, don't care, there's no set definition, it means they'll be nice guys, like they were last time, and not as young and fast as their first team ! We were 1-1 at half time with them last time, before a combination of their visiting substitutes from a very nifty Ayr United supporters' team (old friends of theirs), our less regular substitutes, and very gloomy floodlighting that meant our keeper couldn't see all combined to mean we got well beaten 2nd half.
Actually I think they'll be a similar standard to that team we played in Barcelona.
I'll p-m you now with the details of their (=our) pub. Don't want it to be all over the net but will of course p-m it to all Rawkites & Raotlers who ask. They were serving United supporters till 5am after the CL semi, and I reckon it'll be hard to find many places like that when we get out the ground at midnight.
By the way obscure footy scarves that are not on the list of scarves that the bar owner already has on his wall (see his website) will probably get you a free pint or 2.
[ He supports Milan & Stoke City if you're wondering about the Stoke club news that always appears on his front page. Some of the Inter lads have formed a Port Vale SC to wind him up! His website also takes a pride in giving far too much detail about the Conference teams in the matches that his bar shows every week on Setanta ! ]
Let me change the opening post of this thread asking everyone listed to confirm.
You can add the time - 9pm Monday night to the title and take away the question mark too !
