God I wish we could have won 4 - 0 and Coutinho had a stinker. Every time he scores I fear he's getting one goal closer to Barcelona as it was the biggest part missing from his game but he's on 13 goals now.

Hopefully some proper new teammates, a deep CL run, Top 4 and a trophy next year will hold off the wolves.

Does any body have any idea what Sturridge said to Klopp a few minutes after Origi didnt pass to him and just before he was subbed?
Heres my guess:

"Can you sub Origi as hes not passing to me at all".  :lickin

I was totally baffled by that, the ball was in play but Sturridge and Klopp were just stood there chatting and having a laugh!

That was hilarious but i thought this could be considered disrespectful to West Ham somehow. So i laughed a wee bit harder

Wenger cracks me up - after managing a putrid season his team finally starts winning against the cannon fodder where we could also easily say thanks Manc, Soton, Stoke for lying down against Arsenal - and now he is crying about another team's performance on the heels of the display by Stoke? That's precious.

Thanks, impressive.

Very impressive to beat a Guardiola team at passing.

Mind you, 'we won the passing' is a bit 'Everton under Martinez' ;D

Looking at that table, WBA are an unsurprising last at both passes and touches, with half as many as is. Christ, Pulis.

I suppose it is a bit, but its still some going to outpass a Guardiola team. No surprise about WBA though considering their style of play.

Ok, what I want now is the Suarez in the world cup scenario, we are winning by one, someone who isn't the goalie punching it off the line, tearing his shirt off to celebrate, getting the red card, Migs saves the penno, we score more with just 10 men on the pitch.

we have really had to dig in the last couple of months and it will really help us in terms of developing and improving our game management as a team moving forward. we have shown a lot of grit and character and an ability to defend a lead and also an ability to roll our sleeves up and take on the anti-football shithouse teams. i know the football as been not as explosive as before christmas but i think thats mostly on injuries, fatigued players and squad size and i expect this will be sorted in the summer window.

We dont score too many scrappy goals though. I would love for us to be able to defend properly but it seems like we'll always have issues against certain teams. The solution might just be to maintain how we play vs top teams and just literally always go for it vs bottom half teams, ironically we might end up with a better defensive record that way.

Missed the game as was at a fricking wedding.

Watched the 90 minutes twice though since then.

We were fricking brilliant. Coutinho central with Lallana in a diamond was fucking sexy.

Add a couple of Brazilian style fullbacks out wide and a DM lynchpin, or else a wide forward like Mane or a Torres type player and this is an awesome recipe for next year, at least as a back up plan to 4-3-3

Definitely we were helped by some WHU injuries but was a classy dominant performance in the second half that I've been waiting months to see

Hopefully, has shut up a lot of the moaners.. I haven't caught up on all the threads

Now Boro. Let's hit them for 6 and see if City can drop 2 points biotch!!!

No, that was our highest scoring league season. This would be our second highest scoring league season in this century. We've been great in attack this season but we're still 26 short of what we managed in that campaign, it was an attack for the ages.

Don't think there'll be a more potent Liverpool attack for decades, maybe even a century. If we see a Liverpool side score 100 league goals in a campaign anytime soon I'll be very surprised.

I think our attacking phases of play from the begining of the season and the way we played earlier is far more impressive and has a higher level to be reached as we are not dependent on two goal-scorers alone.

Great win yesterday. Actually managed to get time off work and watch the game live in the pub for once and it was well worth it.

Tasty football, Guinness, a lot of singing and bouncing around after we scored made it very hard to go to work after the final whistle (after 4 pints  ;D)

West Ham were shite yes but we played some very good football and that pass to Sturridge from Coutinho was exquisite. Reminded me off Gerrard playing in Torres circa 2007-09.

Oh and how many times did we hit the bar ?!! Hope that doesn't affect us if it comes down to goal difference with City or Arsenal.

We really should hang on to Danny and give him one last chance as his movement is incredible. Very intelligent footballer. Hopefully his injury problems are behind him as it would be a shame to see him go. Nice to see him laughing with Jurgen on the touchline (means he's staying ?).

Coutinho though. What more can be said ? Sublime. Just hope he wants to stay here rather than fuck off to Barca like Suarez.

With a few clever (not necessarily world class/expensive) additions this summer we can be up there fighting for the title again next season.

Sort out the defence, get another creative midfielder, a winger and one more decent striker and we are all set.

That's 2.2 points per game...

That's pretty damn good that is....  pretty damn good

Don't wanna piss on the first truly positive thread in ages but 2.2PPG isn't that good over an 11 games period when you take into account the opposition and the fact that the previous 7 games gave us 0.85PPG. You will always get swings in points average when you hit good and bad patches.

In order to recover from Jan/Feb I think we should've been going at closer to 2.4PPG which actually translates to 2-3 points - a win (at home) against Bournemouth, Palace or Soton. Considering we only dropped 4 points in 9 matches at home before Xmas, that should've been achievable.

Win next week and it pushes up to 27 from 12 - 2.25 - which starts to look better but more importantly the win gives us a far more tangible achievement.

to be honest we've made it difficult for ourselves simply because the performances has been poor. Results were always going to be worse with the players missing but that doesn't excuse the slow starts, gifting early goals to mediocre players etc.

One big reason why we got such a good result on Sunday was that we scored the in our good periods (with regards to the first two goals). We've been guilty of not getting goals during the 45-65min to win games. Once we done that we killed off the opposition and took further chances when they came.

Think it's as simple as getting the type of quality that breaks down teams back in the side. Lallana, Sturridge starting was huge.
