0' - 'boro kickoff.

1' - poorly taken, wide and straight to Lallana who boots it foward. 'boro pressing and forcing a few scrappy exchanges.

Mane moves the ball to Clyne, who floats it into the keeper's hands.

3' - Henderson with a cross into the box for Firmino. comes to nothing, ball is recycled and eventually results in a corner for us

4' - Henderson doesn't clear the first line - in fact, straight to Mane who heads it out for a goalkick

6' - 'boro have done most the attacking so far. We win the ball and break, Lallana tries a left footed shot from 25 yards out.

It's early days but we seem to be setup more compactly than 'usual' - Origi cutting a lone figure in the middle of the field

7' - Lovren with a good defensive slide to get rid of impending danger down the left.

It's going to a night requiring patience and fortitude.

9' - Again, early doors, but the lads appear to be careful not to commit rash challenges in FK range.

Also clearly not averse to simply smashing the ball out rather than trying to play everything out at the back.

12' - lads in lime trying to get our game going as we approach the 13' mark. 'boro extremely compact though and very effective at stifling the movement.

De Roon catches Hendo on the foot and is spoken to by John Moss.

15' - 'boro with a solid bus parked. Origi tries to break the line but is caught offside

17' - Mane slips and the 'boro player moves to the middle and fires straight at Simon from 30 yards out. Comfortably gathered.

Away fans trying to get something going.

18' - Mane goes down on the edge of the box but it was a slip not a foul.

19' - we break the line for once and Clyne gets a cross into the box - unfortunately no one is in position to capitalise.

A minute later 'boro break and get into our box. Klavan does well to clear the danger.

21' - Traore runs away from Milner who body checks him into submission. FK on the right side of the box.

Moss speaks to Milner but no card

A great kick into the box - 'boro player gets a head on it and Mignolet does well to grab and hold on.

24' - Long ball through on the left and Mignolet scream at Lovren to leave for him. Dives onto the ball keeping it just inside the box.

Can see why 'boro have let so few in - they make WBA look positively giddy

26' - we get a dangerous ball into the 'boro box but Mane reacts a split second too slowly to a ball from Firmino and is unable to move it forward. 'boro quickly re-form and snuff out the attack.

28' - Mane moves the ball smartly to the right from the middle of the field to Clyne who takes it down the line and then puts the perfect cross into the box for Lallana to get his head onto.

1 - 0 Liverpool

30' - 'boro corner dealt with but the ball comes back in. Mignolet with a fine save at the near post. That ball was fired in with great intent - Simon did well there

32' - 'boro have definitely switched gears - they're pressing forward, pumping in the long balls and the crosses. They're definitely not cowed by that goal - slightly more open but also more dangerous

33' - 'boro FK on the right pumped into the box - headed out, 2nd ball is fired straight down the middle and hits Lovren in the midriff - he goes down like a felled steer.

Danger averted.

39' - I've missed out a bit due to a freezing browser. Traore caused all kinds of mayhem there, but we survived the onslaught.

41 - Fischer was alone on the edge of our box for ages with no one around - our defensive support manages to get back before the 'boro

42 - Mane on the break hits the post and Origi hits the side netting

45' - No changes to either side over the break. We go with a pass back and a long kick foward.

45' - Mane with a blistering break and gets close forcing Valdez into a good save. We've started with fire.

A minute later we work the ball back into their box (Origi floated it across to the far corner to Fimino who nodded it back and down but Mane can't get his feet sorted.

We settle into a pattern that is more familiar this season. Dominating the ball high.

Some nervy moments for 'boro in the first few minutes.

48' - Mane with another flick into the middle of the box, Lallana gets his head on it but without power or direction. Wry grin from Klopp.

51' - Neon clad lads working the ball comfortably. Milner with another ball into the box that just gets to Firmino - he toe pokes back and 'boro close it down eventually.

52' - Firmino passes to Gini who slips - not the first slippy, slidey we've seen evening.

Nice little triangles being worked by the lads.

Lallana with a good pass in the direction of Origi but it takes a curl and lands comfortably in Valdes hands.

54' - As 'boro prepare a double change, we work the ball into the box. Mane smashes the ball into the 'boro players, appeals for handball but it was clearly accidental and unintentional.

56' - Fabio with a booming ball across the box - too hard and Negredo can't reach it. Leadbitter was bombing on there in hopes of a knockback.

63' - Traore forces his way through 4 defenders on the right, then earns a FK on the edge of the box as he is brought down.

FK safely dealt with, second ball fired into a wall of defenders.

Followup kick goes too deep.

This is our danger period where we don't quite look like we know what to do.

De Roon catches Hendo with a really snide kick that the ref doesn't see.

Firmino collects the ball in the corner and diddles about with the defender before laying it off.

73' - Gini does well to run down a long ball forward from Hendo on the right. Once he got it he didn't seem to know what to do with it though, and the ball tracks all the way back. 'Boro not touching the ball at the moment and they can't get their sub on

75' - that's a full 2 minutes of passing the ball around before 'boro get the ball - their Valdes promptly gives back. Bobby in the box, skips by Chambers with a shimmy, nutmegs Fabio but gets it back.
