Brooks Lennon with a wonderful cross to give the US their 2nd goal in the U20 World Cup vs. Ecuador (:45 second mark).  He also delivered a dangerous ball for the 3rd goal, that was headed down by a defender and smacked home by Luca De La Torre of Fulham.  On a side note, that's Klinsmann's son in goal with the howler around the 1:15 mark.

Played well against Senegal in the second game, too...

Seems the lad that was loaned to NEC Nijmegen  has started scoring . 3 goals in 3 games if not mistaken.

It seems that Brooks Lennon is doing fine lately. Playing regularly on loan at Real Salt Lake, and now scoring with the U-20 national team at the World Cup.

great for him! Be great for him to get premier league time next year with them too!
Having Welbeck try and mark Pirlo is ridiculous. It's like trying to get a golden retriever to stop a tennis ball machine.Because one is a machine designed for a very specific purpose that it is peerless at, and the other is a fucking dog.

It will be interesting to see whether that happens. Moreover, given Klopp's closeness to Wagner, it might be that more 'fringe' players get loaned to Huddersfield. They'll need reinforcements and they're on a shoestring budget.

Somebody in another thread said you can't loan more than 1 player to the same PL club.

That's not something I was aware of Gerry. There were reports that Danny Ward was expected to return to Liverpool as third choice 'keeper.

Anyway, given we don't know which Klopp targets end up signed, nor their number, it's moot I suppose. Klopp's not someone who appears to value loans as much as, say, the management at Chelsea. Yet we do have a number of players who need to be exposed to a more rigorous playing environment for the sake of their development.

Yes , I am pretty sure the rules are that, PL club can have maximum of two loans from the rest of PL.And both loans  cannot be from the same club .

The only exception is "emergency goal keeper loan" which has to be reviewed and sanctioned by the league Board. Probably won't allow such a loan unless a club has 2-3 senior keepers injured long term though.

Don't think it'd do anyone much good to have Ward here as third choice

He'd play 2 games at most, unless he impressed enough in training to push himself higher up the pecking order. At 23 it would be great for him to get a year of PL experience with Huddersfield, barely any keepers that young are first choice in this division. Might make sense to extend his contract if we do that though.

Makes 100% sense for him to stay there. It's hugely unlikely he going to get past both Mig and Karius after one season of first team football in the Championship. A season as a first choice in the PL under a progressive manager is a huge opportunity for his development.

I'm not sure Ward would benefit being third choice. If he was second choice then where does that leave Karius?

I wouldnt mind having him around if Karius or Mignolet was injured.

but if he was here as second/third choice he wont get much game time. Another year on loan mightnt be the worst idea.

knowing our luck he will join them for a years loan with no call back clause and then Karius will do his cruciate

He deffo should not come back, if he is guaranteed first choice he should stay with them, it will give him incredibly valuable PL experience, him and Karius are the same age (23) and we can't have two young keepers on the bench doing nothing, it is a waste of valuable time to gain experience.

If things keeper wise stay the same get Migs as starter unless Karius overtakes him for whatever reason, Karius as cup GK for all domestic cups etc and Ward at HTAFC as first choice, that should ensure adequate experience/playing time for all

I think its vital for Ward that he stays at Huddersfield next season.

He's guaranteed the top spot there and premier league experience is crucial for his development.

He's ticked the boxes at every level and league he's played in so far (and the Championship is no shite league) and now we, and he, have the chance to see if he can handle the pressure at the top league.  His ability at this stage is in no question at all.

Karius went from playing a full set of games in the Bundesliga to playing hardly any in the premier league.

And ironically Ward is nailed on for a full set of games in the premier league if he stays there.  Its a no brainer.
