Last night was an astonishing performance from Fabinho, especially after that early yellow card. Still managed to protect the defence and keep tackling, he never gave up.

Impossible to call anyone the motm on last nights performance. Everyone was motm but Fabinho performance was amazing.

I LOVED the aggression from Fab last night.....exactly whats needed in a game like that. And to play 3/4 of the match against Barca and to keep a cool head too

What a brain.
Perfect defensive midfielder for us, will be some player going forwards if he keeps on improving

he was our best yesterday evening. i like his intelligence more than anything. getting the foul against Newcastle the other day, then holding onto the ball yesterday in the last minute and getting a foul (normally players would have hoofed it and given away possession), calmness under pressure. really growing on me.

Fantastic performance, absolutely monster of a performance. Kept Messi, Suarez and Coutinho(Who?) in his pockets. And his performance freed up Henderson to run wild :D

Love the heat map, where there is a big number 3 alone in the center. Fucking massive performance.

An absolute monster. I mean, there was very little rational thought passing through my brain last night, but even that part still working was thinking 'Fabinho is unbelievably good out there. He's destroying their attacks and setting up ours at the same time'.

Fantastic last night, absolutely fantastic.

I thought he was going to miss the final when he got booked, forgot that they had scrapped that rule and it would have been such a shame had he had to miss it given that he played such a big part in getting us there. Best scrapping of a rule ever!

World class DM, dont forget he picked up a yellow on 11 mins, then to go through the whole game bossing the midfield, not giving any Barca players a sniff was unreal!

Maybe after this match, the Brazil manager will stop putting Fabinho in the RB position and play him as DM where he really belongs instead.

That was his best performance for the club so far. Unbelievable considering he was on a yellow after 10 minutes.

Barcelona couldn't live with Fabinho and the rest of our midfield.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Yes. Mascherano was great, but Fabinho offers better passing, more controlled play and less of a hot head.

Amazes me when people say he's an average player playing above his level. His defensive positioning, work rate and tackling are excellent but his passing and ball control for a defensive mid is nuts. Aside from Fernandinho and Kante (when played in position), i'm struggling to think of a holding mid right now anywhere near as good. What a signing.

For me that was his best game for us. He is great at protecting our defence and also at calming things down when needed. Loved his run at the end to win the freekick.

One of the very best performances any Liverpool midfielder has had. This time next year he will be regarded as the best CM in the PL.

It's hard to believe how much he has come on since that first appearance at Arsenal.

Has to have that number 6 role nailed down after that and recent performances! It also means Henderson plays slightly higher up the pitch and he suddenly looks a better player. He was never a natural fit for that position.

Those two with either the Ox or Keita next season and the question of midfield balance/lack of penetration is more or less solved.

Next year we can be even better. It's scary.

Still dont understand why he didnt start against City away.

Changed game when he came on that night.

Regardless, he is the player we have been missing! A nasty fucker protecting the back line.

The spine of team is frightening
