not sure where the jags brilliant defence went. maybe the same place as the vikings.

Offense can't keep them off the field. Fournette was chewing clock left, right and centre last season.

fournette spent quite a few games last season injured and they won just fine without him.

you know how this sport loves a stat, they weirdly had a better win % without him.

This is a bad slate of late games, especially now that the Jags are more than 2 scores down. Bortles isn't throwing for 350 yards today or anything.

Fournette is mythical throughout this league, he's not as good as people think he is. Problem this year is that Bortles cannot move the ball. gotta look to move on from him in the offseason.

Jags D is getting shredded every which way never mind offensive problems. Mad against a shite Dallas team.

Had Miami +3 as one my locks of the week then tannehill news came out.

Denver likely gonna have a new HC and QB next year again.

Denver's problem is ol' horse face and his appalling record at drafting, picking QBs and picking coaches.

@billbarnwell
Nathan Peterman now has 10 interceptions on 82 career pass attempts for an INT rate of 12.2%.

The best INT rate over that timeframe is Alex Smith (1.0 percent).

Peterman would have to throw his next 931 consecutive passes without an interception to top Smith’s rate.

Wish id said it earlier but that game was always gonna be won by the team who had the ball last.

Pats D need to step the fuck up. Every tight game, hot knife through butter. Rely on Brady to bail us out. Rinse repeat. Not that thats a bad plan historically i suppose

In saying that Mahomes looking very comfortable at this level

There is very little talent on the defensive side, we had the same issue last year. However Brady gave Kansas City a lifeline with his turnover, otherwise I think we win this game by 2 scores.

I thought the defense was the reason we won the game because we kept them out of the endzone 3 times and they had to settle for field goals.

Had to look that up as it sounded impossible but you're right - sacked 11 times, completed 10 passes  :o  Interesting tactic by the Titans to play without an O-Line.

It was a comical game - had it on in the background after the skins game.

Titans didn't even try to vary things up - not 3 step drops, draws, screens...nothing.

Sooo, have we worked out which teams are any good this year? Cos after this weekend, outside the Rams, I'm not sure if any of the teams with good records are actually good.

The Chiefs and Patriots can't defend, all of the teams that looked quite good a week or so ago like the Bengals, Bears, Panthers, Browns all lost. The Jaguars got demolished by the fucking Cowboys?!!

Feels like it's so hard to call some of these games from week to week atm.

It seems like this year at least, defense is optional and isn't worth stopping your juggernaut offense to sort out. Look at the teams with the best defenses in the league in terms of YPG - Ravens (4-2), Jags (3-3), Bills (2-4), Packers (2-2-1) and Cowboys (3-3). Contrast that with 4 of the top 5 offenses (YPG) having winning records (Bucs the only one < 0.5) and maybe a pattern starts to emerge.

Of course it's still too early in the season to deduce much. Think it'll be towards the end of November when things start to take shape but with QBs being protected more than ever and a general lack of pass rush across the board it'd be easy to imagine a high-powred offense winning the Lombardi.

That said defense wins championships so knows - it'll probably be the Pats again.

Raiders clearly made them look better, but watching the seahawks at wembley yesterday, they looked more of a unit. Having Doug Baldwin back was massive for them yesterday.

Can see them making the playoffs. As for the others, I think the other likely contenders are Rams, obviously, then Chiefs, Saints, Vikings and Patriots. An outside shot on Dolphins, Packers, Bears and Bengals.

I think the reason less teams are showing dominance is that there are less crap sides rather than less good sides. Very few teams who have been utterly useless, where as there were a few last year.
