Thanks again guys for a quality podcast.
Good chat there regarding Carragher.
You could sense the hurt of the defeat yet the mood was very calm and positive.

Cheers.

After much difficulty trying to comprihend what happened on sunday and after watching the game over 4 times and still struggling to deal with it, the podcast has been a little like therapy for me - i downloaded, lay on the sofa tonight and listened to other people talk it out litterally talk it out of you. shrinkage for the footy fan. thankyou now I can move on and look forward to the next game

Id imagine its not at the top of your 'to-do' list mate, but did you find out any details regarding the Mic's used to record the podcast ?
Cheers.

Sorry for the delay mate, but finally got an answer for you

The mics are a stereo pair of Neumann TLM u87's and the centre mic is a Neumann TLM149.

Love this podcast as I've mentionned before. It's surpassed Football Weekly for me as the must hear podcast of the week.

Not a fan of the cakes though! Sort of makes everyone talk in a mudgy way afterwards! Also find it a bit wierd there are no major disagreements. Apart from that, it's really top drawer, hope you boys keep it going all season.

Ah mate, thanks ever so much.
Nice one.
That's some serious bit of Kit.
From the images posted this week I can see the set up, which is probably the best way to go about recording a podcast.
Look forward to many more.

Have to agree with that. If there's one single sound in the world that makes me want to pull my brain out through my ears with a rusty coat hanger it's peoples mouths slopping about when they're eating.

Ditch the eating during the podcast. If only for my own personal safety.

Thanks in advance.

Brilliant Podcast as ever, but for the first time I found myself disagreeing with the boys on the whole Carra issue.

Even though Skrtel had a shocker against spurs at RB I do feel that the Skrtel/Agger partnership needs an extended run out. Not gonna happen now due to Aggers injury. Yes I know Skrtel will press the self destruct button and its rather unintelligent as pointed out in the podcast but he was in great form second half of last season. For that reason alone I think he should be paried up with Agger. The arguement that Carra is the only organiser is valid, but that is a problem that needs fixing and its upto Kenny and the Coaching staff to sort it out. Obviously Coates is another option also and depending on how he gets on will change the landscape of the CB problem as well, hopefully for the better.

When we bought Coates, I still felt that we needed a more experienced CB age wise. Maybe Cahill is still an option in January.
What I love about this, and several other of Kenny's press conferences, is that he manages to say something to the effect of  'Shut the fuck up, you fucking helmets and don't fuck with me or my football club or I'll make you eat your own balls', without actually using th

Enjoyed it, as I have the previous six.

My only gripe would be the amount of 'chatter' going on whilst others are talking. I appreciate that it's a conscious decision to have the podcasts, set up in this 'back at the boozer, chatting about the match' style, and in previous podcasts I have enjoyed this setup, however I felt this week it over stepped the mark in that respect.  At times you had two, even 3 people talking at once for a sustained period.

Although, you could potentially put that down to Rob Gutman's presence  :-X

Otherwise I throughly enjoyed it, as usual.

entirely agree.

the podcast is superb but i can't understand the universal lack of criticism for a player who has looked past his best for at least a couple of years now.

i'd hoped that with less games to play this season he'd have more chance to shine but he can cope with neither pace nor power.

i don't want last ditch blocks i want a high line and a compact highly mobile team.

i think we will recruit an experienced but more mobile centre half in january.

still wrong thread for this just wanted to say you're all doing a cracking job and literally setting the weeks lfc agenda.

keep it up.

Quality ranting from Hightown

http://www.theanfieldwrap.com/2011/09/divvies-a-rant/

It is a quality read.  I particularly liked this little bit, "Andy Carroll decided to do so form of Line Dancing deep in to injury time."  That was particularly funny, as Andy was left face down in front of the Kop after his faux pas just as the final whistle went.

who are they then these fans - because I can't really recall anybody on here admitting to booing their own players

I'd normally label them sky washed but the descriptions given tend to be older fans, season ticket holders, the same breed that ignored the shit the club was in, didn't join the protests and just carried on

One game last season (can't remember which) someone blamed Dirk for absolutely everything that went wrong on the pitch.

Apparently there was someone up in 306 who shouted 'COME ON STEVIE' from the third minute, so attendance doesn't necessarily mean insight.

can remember something like that during the game we lost to villa 3-1 at home - gerrard was playing shite, misplacing all his passes and generally not being too arsed and the fella behind me was slagging off everyone but gerrard for it

The best ones are the blokes who have their absolute heroes. Like when Babel's about to come on and someone just out of sight is convinced he'll turn the game around.

The usual defence offered by those who think it acceptable  to boo players is "they get a shedload of money for playing shit and so I'll boo them as much as I want".
Some blokes (but some women too) have always used football as an excuse to moan non stop for 90 minutes, but the idea that  footballers aren't human beings because they earn a fortune seems prevalent amongst the young.

Good post but not sure things will ever change. It certainly comes from a broad cross section, where my dad sits in the lower centenary are some old boys who have been going for as long as I can remember who are worse for it than any day tripper.

Sometimes it's just down to circumstance I guess. Everyone knew yesterday was a must win and the whispers and rumours would get worse if we didn't. I want there so can only go off what I saw and hears but seemed to be a lot of tension and nerves around second half.

"fuck off Carroll you c*nt, you're a bag of shite"

True that, some people just love to moan. The worst ones are generally the fat massive baldy cnt who thinks he's funny and screams at all the players (ours included), turning to his shit-his-knickers smaller mates who nod eagerly in approval and egg him on. Please, just STFU, and actually watch the match, you're as funny as Joe Pasquale.

During the 1946/47 title winning season the Liverpool Echo reported weekly about  "the doom merchants of Anfield".
This is in an era of Billy Liddell and Albert Stubbins amongst other greats.
