Wow @ people saying Sahin is bitter and shit.

It's not like he told Rodgers "either play me in midfield or I'm not playing at all" and now blames him for everything.

Meh, sounds like a brat. Personally I haven't missed him and thought he was shit during his time here, not to say he is shit, just he was shit here; out of position or not.

While he was here he never looked like he really tried,  considering this dunno how he can blame Brendan.
Must admint Cesc is a great prospect new him before he went to Arsenal, same with Pique(now at ManU) and Messi also from Barcelona. Watch out for these guys in the future look very good.

Get him in the scouting team ASAP!

Puts just how good Steven Gerrard is into perspective when Nuri Sahin apparently can't play 20 yards further up the pitch.

Storm in a tea cup I reckon.

Mind you, I think Sahin needs to worry about how much he playsrather than where he plays.

Are you people serious about not trying or bad attitude? I think when he played he gave his 100%, went into tackles many times. As I said he may have not had best time here but he wasn't anywhere near as bad as you make him out to be.
The biggest problem anywhere in the world is that people's perceptions of reality are filtered through the screening mesh of what they want, and do not want, to be true.

Overhyped. Didn't have the bollocks or fight for the PL and physically was well out of his depth. If being asked to play 10 yards away from your favoured position causes you to get tackled constantly and miscontrol the ball then maybe take a look at yourself.

Got it in one!

This is a lot of fuss about nothing. I expect that his comments aren't that bad when correctly translated or interpreted and he did imply it was an honour to play for us.

He's obviously a capable footballer who should have been able to adapt to any midfield position as others have done for us in the past.  It didn't work, he moved on and good luck to him....end of story!

He's certainly proving him wrong at Dortmund.

Good player but not suited to Rodgers approach. Would have worked better under Rafa I feel with his double pivot/two deep midfielders.

Nah, you are working on the assumption that Sahin would replace Alonso in a like-for-like swap in that setup. If anything, Sahin's time here shows how complete a player Alonso is over Sahin in terms of physicality and workrate allied to that godlike passing ability. Alonso used to cover plenty of ground and his anticipation and tackling was top notch and overshadowed only by the relentless beast next to him called Mascherano. I lost count of the number of times Sahin would be casually jogging back to our half when the opposition were breaking at full speed against us. Sahin needs a very particular kind of setup to flourish and unfortunately for us and Madrid, he didn't show anywhere near the kind of talent required to make that commitment to build a team around him. Indeed, even Dortmund seem to have no pressing need for his talents currently with the excellent Gundogan having made Sahin's erstwhile midfield spot his own.

Lacked work rate and fight imo, wanted to play Gerrard's position and he isn't as good as Gerrard at it.

We lacked depth at the start of the season and Rodgers brought it in Sahin.

Pity it never worked out, but shame on him for being so bitter

he’s back at Borussia Dortmund now, as assistant coach.  Looks like he did well in turkey, but there was always the understanding that he could cut short his contract at Antalyaspor if he got an offer to go back to BVB.

he was?

Can’t say that’s my first thought on how Sahin was as a player!  Hugely talented, but made the wrong career move at too young an age. And never really recovered from it.

Yeah dont understand the lazy part, played for Klopp for years and was one of his key players, No lazy player plays long for Klopp. He played too much football and burned out in his mid 20s, injuries didnt help either
