On the Arthur note - I think Klopp is just saying this to be nice. He probably has no intention of ever playing him.

I agrre which is why we need to be ruthless with him.

So Jota, Firmino, van Djik, and Arthur back in the training in the next few weeks. Great stuff.

As stated above at least we have a timeframe but I’ll believe it when I see them on the training pitch.

Firmino still two weeks from training isn't great. Almost a month and a half for what was supposed to be a few days.

But on the other side, Virgil is actually sooner than I thought - once his injury seemed more serious, I half expected it to be March when we first saw him again.

Assuming the three of them are ready and have had some minutes before Madrid, then it'll be a massive boost to the rest of the squad.

dunno why people put so much credence into the "back in training .... getting close" messaging.

by now, we should all be aware that it doesn't really mean much of anything. we've seen this movie a hundred times.

as far as I'm concerned, when they show up on the pitch for a game is all that matters.  until then, their state of fitness is kind of an illusion.

What?! Unbelievable! Not going to rage about what we do behind the scenes but my word we have no luck at all with injuries do we?

Pretty much the one bright spark we've had in recent games, so of fucking course. Taking bets on how long Matip's hamstrings last before we're lining up one of Phillips/Williams?

It needs a top down review of whatever the fuck the medical and conditioning department have been doing this year, because this cannot continue. Figure out what or who is responsible, and fucking change it.

Fuck this season honestly.

So our fit&healthy centre backs are Matip and Gomez, which means we'll have not a single fit CB in no more than 2 weeks.
Oh, Phillips and Williams, I'm sorry I forgot.

Within 3 weeks it will be James Milner and Tony Evans at centre half.

When did he injure it ? He stayed on.

It was near the end in a sprint duel with Mac Allister, he made a little face and touched his hamstring, though he did finish the game.

He’s been fairly injury prone but so are most our players

I'd be interested to hear if Klopp has any thoughts on all this injury stuff, or whether he thinks it's just somehow bad luck. Shame you rarely get a good question asked in a press conference.

It really is, Diaz fiasco, Firmino out for two weeks and it turns into a couple of months, Konate came back from two months out and gets injured straight away. This season has been a complete mess, from the top down.

Yep, the bad season wouldn't feel so bad if only 1 area was broken whether it was the midfield, injuries, transfer team, ownership or whatever but it feels like the whole club is broken at the moment. Pretty depressing.

There is something seriously wrong with our conditioning/ injury prevention programme and its the number one thing (before transfers) that we need to sort out asap. Whats the point in having good players if you keep breaking them?
