I'd be surprised to see him make it here under Klopp almost regardless of ability. He just isn't the style of full back that Klopp likes so he'd have to be outstanding to get Klopp to play him over others. Trent Alexander-Arnold is much more Klopp's type of full back and there's only room for one right back in our squad as he isn't going to displace Clyne. I think Flanagan will probably make a career as a lower half of the prem full back.

He's behind Clyne, TAA and Gomez for RB and he's behind Moreno, Robertson and Milner for LB. Realistically, he's got no chance now. He did well in 13/14, he should be playing PL football for a club and he got his chances at LFC. He can be proud of what he did, but his future is elsewhere. Very, very few players make it at LFC and he came closer than most.

Don't see a future for him here unfortunately, he's 4th choice at right back at best these days.

Had to do really well at Burnley last season for that to happen I think. Instead he barely got into their squad and now he's just finished here.

Think a loan is for the best but likely with a view to a move.  He may have to drop down a division.  Shame really.

Flanno might need to move down to the Championship unfortunately, he's a decent player, good enough to make a good living from the game, but never gonna dislodge TAA, Clyne or Gomez, he'll always have his goal at White Hart Lane.

The best Liverpool semi at White Hart Lane since Rushy’s double in 86.

i agree maybe.. but he might be a good option for a premier league team as well

also in my view he has more than that WHL goal... he was a solid performer for us in his patch in first team as i remember...vital in our season where we almost won the title..

Flanno more than punched his weight in the 2nd half of the 13/14 season. Whatever happened during that defeat at Southampton, seems to have changed Klopp's opinion of Jon Flanagan.

Needs to be sold in January. Turns 25 in a few weeks and is definitely nowhere near the quality we need. Probably best for him to get on with his career in the Championship.

The injuries he's had have ruined him and his ability to develop. The fact that he couldn't break into Burnley's side says it all, unfortunately.

I don't think it does really. He's spent his career under Rafa, Kenny, Brendan and Jurgen. Its not a major surprise to me that he wasn't able to convince Sean Dyche he was suitable for his 'brand' of 'football'.

Lads just been unlucky with injuries, but also think when he broke into the side in 13/14 he was on a massive crest of a wave which was always unlikely to continue. He's always been a bit limited and a bit rash. He's a bit like Moreno but without the upside of how quick 'berto is and his ability with the ball.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

And what if he goes on loan to a palace, Swansea etc team and has a blinder of a season and helps to keep them up. Is his career still over?

He's barely been given any chance since that season we nearly wion the league (mainly due to injury). I'm a big believer in giving players another chance, just look at Moreno!

He's been unlucky this season as he probably would have got some more game time if Moreno had been sold. Looks like he's 3rd choice at left back so needs a loan.

Didn't he go on loan to Burnley and not even get in their team? No room for sentimentality. He's turning 25 in January.

A lot of ifs, ands, or buts - he's not making it here - but there likely is room on some team in the PL or Championship for a hard nosed no-nonsense defender.

True - but the club don't like negative publicity. Hope it's all a misunderstanding, but I still think that it will be a curtain on his career here.

He's been arrested, evidence has clearly been given against him and he's been charged. He's going to court and he'll probably be convicted. Shame, as I like the lad. He should have known better.

Lets face it, from a footballing perspective he's well down the pecking order with Alexander-Arnold, Gomez and Clyne at RB so his career here was all but over anyway, but I hope that he can learn from this and go on to have a good career with a lower levelled team as I do have a soft spot for him after his goal against Spurs.
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

I'm aware of that, my point was that he's considered innocent until proven guilty (or acquitted).

Yeah if it turns out he's innocent and it's a case of mistaken identity then I'll hold my hands up but I just found it funny that the first thing that'd someone would put when one of our players is a arrested and charged with assault is 'he's not been convicted yet'.
