Any idea on what's happening with Emeka Obi? Was mentioned as a coup when we signed him but haven't heard anything about him after the signing.

Harry Wilson has been left out of the Liverpool squad today as he closes in on a loan move. Swansea, Stoke & Derby are his options.
( Neil Jones )

Hope we put in a recall option for 6 months, just in case.

Can't do recalls.

The loan players have to be there at their loan club at least up until Jan.

Thought you can, but players over 21 year old cannot be registered outside of transfer window that’s all. I could be wrong tho.

So, two clubs that are in the middle of rebuilds and a third with someone who's never managed a club before? Sounds great!

But those rebuilds are well-funded with parachute payments. Rafa rebuilt Newcastle to bounce back up. I think it is best to avoid a rookie manager though. But I believe it would be a better experience to be with a relegated club challenging for promotion than a mid table or bottom table club.

Joining Derby according to the Mirror. Not the best source I know but would seem a weird one for them to make up.

Don’t think that site is very accurate.  It has Dal varesevonic playing with our U18s last year (as most of expected) but he was never in any squads and neither was he listed on the lfc official site.  Think Maldini is right, he wasn’t with us long and moved on.  No idea why.

What happened to him? Work permit issues originally and then...? Seemed very highly rated, or at least appeared that way from the single article I read about him when we first signed him, and some random youtube video...

Has Brewster signed the new deal yet, do we know? There was some recent media speculation about some other teams sniffing around, but don't know how accurate that was.

Does not look like it, I think he made a decision to.  But is now probably waiting to see what happens to Origi, solanke, sturridge and Ings.  Also what incomings there are.  It's a difficult one, I am sure he looks at Trent, but then looks at Wilson and Woodburn and possibly questions putting pen to paper.

John Percy at the telegraph saying derby are confident of getting Wilson on loan, getting mason mount as well. Could be quite an exciting attack to watch.

Two players who should be getting much better opportunities than a Championship loan.

doesn't seem that those opportunities have been forthcoming. Although doubtless we don't get to hear about what clubs make offers for players.

A full season of regular football in the championship though is still a very good opportunity.

Ajax and psv amongst others wanted mount. Think he'd have gone elsewhere if not for jody morris and lampard being at derby.

But yeah, don't think the championship is bad for them at their age and experience. Step after is more important.

exactly. If Wilson (I know nothing of Mount!), can put in a solid full season to go with his good half season at Hull at this level, then that'd do him more good than anything right now.  Loads of playing time, a pretty tough competitive league - and no doubt he'll get call ups with Wales too, so that's more decent experience. Hopefully this will be a big season for him, and it'll give Liverpool a nice headache next summer!

Possibly but if no premier league team comes in for them then Derby is a good move. However very few teams in the Premier League give youth a chance especially loan players. The Dutch league is poor. Lewis Baker had a longer successful spell there at Vitesse also (but 2 seasons) and he also went to the Championship on loan last season and only started 6 games.

That doesn't always mean the player was bad though. Don't think I'd blame an young player for not getting games under Tony pulls.

Gotta agree with Aceldama. Mason Mount scored almost one in three and was player of the year for a team that finished sixth in the Eredivisie. Wilson looked a class above the competition in the Championship last year too and is ready for a move up to play alongside better quality players. Does it really do him that much good to be playing next to Championship players, under someone with no managerial experience?

A full season of regular football in the championship though is still a very good opportunity.

There was Bundesliga interest for Mount apparently, on top of the big Dutch clubs.

Excelling in Holland then ending up in the Championship is a regression, Chelsea have demonstrated often enough that they don't know how to progress their academy prospects. Wilson ending up back there is less egrigious as he basically only has half a season of senior football - but in that half season he excelled.

Justin Kluivert got a £15m move to Roma off the back of a less productive season than Mount. Baker's situation is more a demonstration of what I stated above - Chelsea don't know what to do with these players. Giving a physically unexceptional, technically excellent young midfielder to Pulis for a season - who thought that was a good idea?

Kluivert has had two good seasons with Ajax, played in two UEFA Cup final campaigns, in the champions league, and is capped by Holland Mount hasn't been tested to such a level and even in Holland he didn't start to impress until the new year

With regards to giving Baker to Pulis for a season I am pretty sure nobody thought about this last August when the loan went through what with Pulis being the manager of West Brom and not Middlesbrough.

You make it sound like they're going to play in the Vauxhall conference

Derby are likely to be challenging for the league. The Championship is a better standard than many give it credit for and where Wilson is concerned, his playing time will be limited at Liverpool, probably to 5 minutes here and there and any potential cup run we have (didn't work out for us last year) so surely more game time suits them at this point in their career?

Harry Wilson off to Derby on season-long loan. Good deal for Rams. #LFC weighing up Championship interest in Ryan Kent and Sheyi Ojo, among others.

And hoping to seal new contracts for Rhian Brewster and Taiwo Awoniyi this week. Neither will go on US tour, Awoniyi to be loaned.

Hopefully we'll get confirmation on Brewster quite quickly.

I think the process is to have the player around the first teambto train under Klopp and learn the expectations. Then go out on loan for match time after learning what Klopp wants. That is why I would not be surprised to see Woodburn go on a season long loan and Brewster training with the 1st team this season.

Would far prefer Harry Wilson and for that matter other home championship prospects playing for a decent championship team than being squad fillers for a club fighting the drop in the EPL.  Reality is they need moe experience than what they have got to command decent EPL mins

New academy pics up for most of the U23s and 18s (this year’s shirts), but not yet showing the first year U18 cohort.   Lfc tv and Echo reporting (brief) on an U18 warm up 3-0 win v. Blackpool.  No news at all on the U23s warm up matches.  Like they’re non existent.
