Ben,now that I've installed XP will I still be able to make a new partition and reinstall Me so I can dual boot, or must I install Me first and then XP?

ME will trash the boot sector and break XP...

You should be able to install ME and use the XP cd to boot and goto the repair option and find fixboot or something to fix it..
