Congrats Red Mongoose and the other winners! Good luck in the next round

Pretty pleased with my selection in the end, decent mix of some fun pulpy/b-movie stuff, some uniquely styled horror and some interesting but not overly popular films from abroad - would be absolutely chuffed if just one person finds the list and finds out they like something on it that they didn't know.

Reckon they're all relatively approachable films too, no big barriers to watching and enjoying (quite 'easy to just stick on'). Start with Road House if you want a laugh!

Unlucky mate, you had a great selection, at least the one I've seen. The ones I haven't, all look very intriguing, so definitely will be checking some of them out.

Love the sentiment mate, and completely agree. Sharing a little-known film that you love, and finding out that someone watched it and enjoyed it (based on your recommendation), is truly a great feeling.

That's why you're classy.  :)

My response is Matthew 7:6 (but thanks to the pearl lovers).
What has the universe got to do with it? You're here in Brooklyn! Brooklyn is not expanding!

thanks mate, and couldn't agree more! not sure if I said before, but you inspired me catching All That Jazz at a local cinema screening earlier this summer (was so hungover I would have made excuses otherwise) - probably the best cinema experience of a busy year where i've been lucky to catch some great films, so thank you!

So happy to hear that mate. Glad you had a great time. It really is an amazing film and one that's really easy to recommend, even though it's technically a musical (although I don't think it is), as it's so full of life and so fucking entertaining. One of the best-edited movies I have ever seen too.

i have a couple of Antonioni's (they'd be my first) to watch thanks to you!
On that note. I have seen a couple of Antonioni's films before, but I caught Red Desert the other week, based on Tele's selection on a past draft. Not what I expected but such a great movie. It reminded me of a Todd Haynes film called Safe.

It's themes of social isolation and environmental deterioration, in that ugly and poisonous industrial landscape, are even more pertinent today than they were back then. I would love to hear what Antonioni would think of our current digitalized society. Really reccomended.
