Thought big Dejan was superb tonight. Superb. Yer man on ITV commentating had a bit of a go saying he was shaky or dodgy or something , was he fuck. He was up for a scrap tonight too. Oh and I though when he pished Lindgard and he got up trying to square up and Lovren just held the ball above his head was, unintentionally, funny as fuck

Narritive is more important than reality. Pretty much what Klopp said last season. Once you have a reputation for being dodgy, it sticks. Lovren had an almost perfect game and was still labelled as a "mess" and "shaky". We will win the league and still it will be "he was shite before VVD, therefore VVD is propping him up" with some.

Once opinions are made, they don't change. They just look for evidence, however small, to support them and ignore everything that goes against them.

He really stood up well for his team when they were having some issues during the 1st half and at the end of the day, he took any Ballon d'Or aspiration the goal thief ever had and put them in his back pocket. I hardly saw Kane today. That says it all about Lovren as the leader of that back four, that the only contribution of Kane was that dubious offside miss he had. I'm sure he'll put on an epic fight on Sunday too, and I just hope he gets to lift that trophy. For me, he and Modric have been standouts this tournament. Mr Reliables.

I just wish he can carry this form into the new season, because on his day he can be immense.

Good for Dejan, after the ridiculous amout of shit he's had to take from gobshite English press (and too much from some Liverpool fans who should know better), he deserves to big himself up, he's earned it, played exceptionally well this WC as he did for Liverpool 2nd half of last season (and before).
