They have new owners who are investing too.

they include Arizona's Public Safety Personnel Retirement System.

Steven Schumacher to Stoke as new manager.

Was doing something interesting with Plymouth, as was their previous manager Ryan Lowe who went to Preston. Both scousers too.

Can't help but feel it's a bit of a sideways move but maybe with a bit more investment at Stoke he can push a team up near the top of the Championship.

Yeah, quite a strange move as Stoke don't exactly have a promotion-ready squad or a huge budget, and have been floundering for a few years now.

Alex Neil took a similar route to join them and then flopped, so will be interesting to see if Schumacher can go better despite his comparative inexperience.

Good chance for Ipswich to get back to winning ways after 3 games without one. Need to as others are beginning to close the gap

I think Schumacher and Lowe just took the opportunities to move a bit more locally to Merseyside.

Southampton finding good form, wouldn't be surprised if it's them alongside Leicester and Leeds coming straight back.

Also ...

They've made the decision at the right time to be fair, because Rooney was 100% going to get them relegated. Obviously they should never have hired him in the first place though.

Cooper being mentioned but I can't imagine that's a possibility as he'll fancy getting a PL job sooner or later (e.g. Palace). Alex Neil seems a likely candidate to me?

Golden generation produced absolute average to awful Manager's.

Astounding indictment on coaching in England, I don't reckon I'll ever see a English Manager at Liverpool for the rest of my life.

You can bet he'll stroll into another job in no time.

Incredibly talented players with little tactical ability, or generally a bit thick. Hence why they never clicked as a team.

James - Failed spell in India
Neville - ha!
Ferdinand - Amazingly shite pundit
Terry - Failed coach
Cole - following other membes of this team as a coach, and always doing terrible
Beckham - Would love to see it
Gerrard - Took the easy money
Lampard - Absolute disaster
Scholes - Lasted one month in his only proper job, back to his daughters feet
Rooney - Shite
Owen - Managing to reach the bin with his apple

It's quite often that the best players don't make the best managers, but they have all been incredibly bad, maybe Gerrard's time as Rangers is the only success.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

They were in sixth when they sacked Eustace which is mad. They probably wouldn't have finished in sixth but they likely wouldn't have been in a relegation scrap three months later either

probably an ego thing, they went for jobs that they weren't good enough.  Plus non of them were tactically aware as player, they could run through walls without problem but wouldn't have seen the open door on the side.

Alonso on the other hands, is doing everything what a new manager should be doing

Gerrard had potential with Rangers. He jumped at the wrong job too early. He was a better manager there than Van Bronckhorst, Gerrard could have taken them to the Europa League final and I think they'd have kept hold of the league title too. That would have been a good jumping off point but Villa still would have been the wrong job six months later. Who knows what the right job would have been though. I think there's an argument he could have just kept on going with Rangers but then again you'll always have the only Scotland argument.

Lampard has been the funniest by far. He's genuinely awful, hopefully back with a new club soon.

A far more sensible appointment than Wayne Rooney!

I don't think Mowbray is the man to get them promoted (next season - this season is damage limitation for them) but he'll steady the ship.

Carvalho meant to be going to Hull until end of the season. That could be a great addition for them in attack, already have some good young players and he's already been a part of a side who's won the Championship, he'd probably be their best player in fact and could swing a few games for them, they should be in the playoffs come the end of the season

Good move for him. I watched some of their games this season, to see how Morton is doing, and it seems that Rosenior has assembled a decent young team there. It will be nice cheering for them in the play-offs come May ...

I have a lot of time for Rosenior as a coach and manager with the way he articulates himself and goes about his business as a coach. I think he has a lot of potential to be managing at the highest level in the PL. Hope he gets a chance in year or two at a PL club.
