Has anyone read the Benfica travel advice on .tv? I can't open it on mine and wondering what it says.
Cheers!
Our advice for the match
PASSPORTS AND VISAS
you don't need a visa to enter Portugal but your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay
take out some travel insurance even if you're only going for one night - if you get into difficuluties it could save you a lot of money!
GETTING TO THE STADIUM
Lisbon airport (Aeroporto da Portela) is 5 miles from Benfica stadium - Thomas Cook Sport and Kuoni travel agencies will provide coaches for official supporters
Colegio Militar/Luz are the nearest underground stations.
it is advisable to travel to the station by underground. Parking is difficult and traffic is congested on match days.
WHILE YOU'RE IN PORTUGAL
keep your passport with you at all times, it is a requirement under law in Portugal to show ID if requested by the police or judicial authorities
large crowds are the favoured hunting grounds for petty criminals so be careful with your valuables
you may be approached by drug pushers, don't get involved. Anyone caught in possession of drugs may be detained or fined. Selling or trafficking drugs is a criminal offence and subject to severe penalties
arrive early as there will be ticket checks and searches carried out by Benfica stewards and/or police
remember that Portuguese beer is stronger than the beer at home, and the authorities have the right to breathalyse on entry to the stadium and refuse entry to anyone testing over the limit
AT THE STADIUM
don't attempt to take alcohol, sharp objects (including umbrellas), fireworks or flares, bottles or cans, drums or video cameras into the stadium
flags are allowed but must not be on poles over a metre long. Coins and lighters are permitted
Liverpool fans will be asked to stay in the stadium for up to 30 mins after the game so be prepared for delays
