Didn't your mum ever tell you if you've got nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all?

I realise that everyone here wants to protect and defend Suarez.

But didn't any of your Mums ever tell you not to bite anyone? I can't believe how so many on here just laugh his behaviour off.
They all did, along with don't kick anybody, don't hit them, don't push them, don't use bad language, don't lie, don't make a fuss....
It's still all happening all they time. I don't really get while 'biting' (and we're not even talking Mike Tyson bite your ear off biting here, more a nip) seems to be so much worse.

Did she ever tell you not to burn Duplo houses in your bedroom?

So many on here laugh it off because our Mums told us that biting is good.

Just now on TV, Ben Brown (BBC) - there are lots of amusing comments being made on twitter and elsewhere...

Richard Conway (Chief sports correspondent) ... FIFA has a 6 game tariff for spitting, but nothing specifically for biting, they could possibly benchmark the FA's 10 game ban...

begs the question why FIFA aren't already prepared for exactly this scenario. Beggars belief

As Barnesy said last night, there won't be much FIFA can do about it(and then proceeding to laugh it off. Good old Barnesy). There isn't a precedent, so yeah. Prolly a 6-game ban or something and then back to the drawing board for them.

Anyway- what happened happened, if it spills over to the league and CL, I'd be disappointed but that's about it. Can't be bothered having an opinion of it.

Yeah, she said that too.

Ok then. I'll write a letter to Suarez commending him for his actions if you like.

One question, then I'm done with this topic. What would Suarez have to do for you (or the majority here) to condemn him?

The more i look at the picture with his shirt pulled down so you can see the alleged bite marks......the more it doesn't make sense. The position is further down than the top of the shoulder so to bite it would be extremely difficult. How would you get purchase on the flat of the shoulder? Also the teeth marks? Suarez.... Although big teeth, they are perfectly aligned and the picture shows 3 small marks in a row and then 2 further marks higher? What teeth would these be? 5 teeth standing alone? If they're his top teeth he would have to have his head on upside down.....or be facing him which he wasn't.

So it doesn't add up to me....

I think he tried to bite him.... But not sure he actually did.

It's his points of view from his personal experiences, either you can offer an opposing view from a personal point as well, or not? You can't call him out for it if it's a personal experience can you?

As a matter of a fact, yes I can. But I won't be drawn into an argument which has to stoop to a personal level (Or pissing contest) on a public forum in order to offer an opposing view to give it more or less credence.

What I will say though is that I have not met Luis Suarez in person so I cannot make any assertions as to his childhood or his environment, which may have or may not affected his temperament on the field. So therefore I'm not trying to "Explain why Luis is the way he is" and I'm not a psychologist so I cannot say whether or not this is "hardcoded" into his game and/or can be "removed".

Babulugu is a writer, I'm sure he's used to feedback (Positive or Negative) on his writing, it is after all, a part of the writing process. Not everyone is going to agree with anyone's point of view on here, it's a public forum that we all share.

I've made my point of view and he has made his, that is it.

Because the FA have no jurisdiction over internationals, FIFA does over everything.

I suspect that's it, but your point is valid.

Wrong. Domestic FA's have to initiate any sanctions themselves.

I waited to post about Suarez until things came into focus a little more. Simply, I'm disappointed with the whole affair. The OP mentioned over-saturation, and that's exactly how I feel. So much so, that my opinion on the matter doesn't really bubble deep within. It's just there, sadly coming to the surface once again because of an act of insanity on the pitch from Luis. It lay dormant for over 12 months, but now it's back.

But despite my personal feelings, from the club's standpoint, there is no reason to react rashly in any way. And this is certainly not the time either. Let FIFA make its decision and then the hierarchy can assess how the situation impacts the Liverpool FC.

And despite my disappointment in Luis, I truly believe Liverpool is the place for him. And the club and its fans have made that massively obvious. After a turbulent 18 months of (biting, Evra, wanting to leave), we put our arm around him, helped him, rehabbed him, strengthened him, built a club around him. If we must, we can do it again. And I don't think that's ruining the brand. On the contrary, I think that enhances our brand and shows how we support one another, through thick and thin, like a family. That we recognize our flaws, and collectively deal with them. That together, we can overcome. That's Liverpool FC for me. And what player, or fan in the world wouldn't want to be a part of something like that?
