I just brought a copy of John O'Farrell 's Things can Only get Worse, interesting as to how this will contrast with Things can Only get Better.

I've been working my way through Philip Kerr's Bernie Gunther series over the past year or so. Got into historical fiction and this series about a hard boiled Berlin detective / private eye set in Nazi and post-war Germany are some of the best thrillers I've ever read. Every couple of months Amazon would put one of the series on sale on Kindle for a quid or two and I'd snap them up. Then lo and behold they've only put the entire 14 book series on sale for under £3 which is ridiculously good value, considering I've been looking to complete the last couple for months and never seen them under a fiver.

If you like your thrillers noir-ish, and your hero cops more anti-heroic than anything, do yourselves a favour. The offer won't last long.
