He dispelled the ‘not a team player’ tag the minute he joined us IMO. It was thrown at him before he joined but I honestly don’t think I could give him that tag at all.

He's very much a team player on and off the pitch.

Only thing to take from the Simon Jordan comments is that Jordan is a bitter miserable c*nt.

Imagine coming out with a character assasination of someone based pretty much entirely on assumptions and laying it all out as if you are speaking in facts. Disgusting really and not suprising it was on Talkshite

It's absolutely disgraceful that someone can be given airtime to spread shit like that about someone they don't know based on nothing but their own personal prejudices, but this is someone who's hired and kept Hodgson as manager of their club for the past few years so we can probably guess at Jordan's general world view. He's never had anyone nearly as talented as Sturridge play for his team.

Looks like Turkey will be his destination. Some team is willing to pay 2-3m euros / year.

If he can stay healthy he will score a ton of goals.

Really don't think he will, on either front.

Seems like he’s off to Trabzonspor.

If he stays fit he could dominate that league..

Ryan Babel was scoring at a rate of one in three/four goals, and he's super fit/mobile (obviously not a patch on his finishing). Talk of dominating anywhere in his condition is likely a bit OTT

Good luck to him, I hope he has an enjoyable end to his career. I'm glad he got to win the Champions League with us.

Trabzon is a very beautiful place, at least from a natural standpoint. Stunning scenery. I'd recommend anyone to check it out on Street View or Google Images. The climate, by Turkish standards, is rather Britain-like too, except with humid summers with hot lows. In winter though, it feels very much like a November in England and both the rain and the gloominess is similar. I think from that standpoint, he'll be used to it.

Best of luck Danny you legend.

I must admit I miss him a lot - what a naturally gifted striker he was for us. As graceful a player you’ll ever see play for us. The 13/14 season was just mesmerising to see him play. A shame about the injuries but a European Cup medal was the very least he deserved for all the times he provided us with those amazing goals.

Top top man.

Always rated Daniel as a striker. Wish him the best.

How many minutes did he play in our CL campaign to qualify for a medal?

It was probably in reference to earlier in the thread where Jordan Simon wrote a complete hit piece on Sturridge.

How's it gone so far for our friend over at the Medical Park? Made any appearances yet? I assume he came there a long way off match fitness.

Not yet, he started training with them on the 26th and they've only had 2 games since then, one was a Europa game he couldn't be registered for. Would imagine he'll be in the squad for their next game now that the international break is over
