If they don't arrive from General sale, then just pick up a duplicate on the day and say it didn't arrive, make sure you've got ID though, nothing to worry about

the club might be doing only collections for local general sale paper tickets just for cup games, or maybe its to try and avoid Leeds fans mixing it up with Reds ?

if collections become the norm, they need to make an announcement to clarify procedures.

Think someone said it'll probably be just for the cup games.

Spurs local general sale were posted out, just been Leeds where they've asked to collect from the ticket office.

had my 1st experience of the 9 quid tickets today. Can't complain about the view. paid a lot more before and had worse view.

BUT

fuck me there were so many people in there who had blatantly not got the ticket through the local sale. The club needs to sort this out but I hope that doesn't mean sacking off the local sales

Feed it back to the club, with ideas on how they can improve things.

Are the £9 tickets all in a block though,  as you can buy full prices ones in U1/9 too I thought?

There was a steward with a clip board in U1 before the game asking people were they were from today.

But yeah, not all the seats in U1 and U9 are £9 ones.

All I can think of to stop touting is them to have specific manned turnstiles were you collect your ticket showing id and then go straight into the ground.

people have exploited this like people always will, these sales shoudl always have been window sales with people having to take id and proof of address to get ticket

Or could stick  them on a bright pink (or other noticeable colour) fancard and stewards ask for address and photo ID at turnstile

Fail to produce, let person in, take card and ban purchases in future. Id only let them in by the way as presumably if bought it's been bought in good faith etc

A lot will already have memberships or fan cards so unfair to split their purchase history into two.

Def think they need to check N&A and ID people in some way though.

I don't think id when you buy the ticket would help, people with L postcode can still buy and then sell them on the second they leave the window. They need to id when you try and get into the ground.

It's hard to tell how much of this is touting though, plenty of non-scousers live in the city, and students all have an L postcode too. So the Chinese people you're seeing up there could have bought the tickets perfectly legitimately

For the amount of tickets that are sold to locals it's a waste of time ID'ing everyone.

I think this a small issue compared to those passing on ST's, members cards and the lack of chances to ever get to an away match!!

My mate has just signed up for an account to buy tickets in the general sale but got 2 questions for him.

His postcode is L20 - will that still work in terms of being local?

Will they add being eligilble for himself to buy tickets in the local general sale or do you have to ring the ticket office?

Cheers

All Liverpool (L) postcodes are sound for the local general sale's.
Now he's registered he should have log in details and a customer number and thus would attempt to purchase in the relevant sales.

It adds an eligibility thing into your purchase history if your account meets the criteria, get him to check if it's there.

Am I right in thinking the local sales is a separate batch of tickets to the late members sale?

Change in policy for Stoke local general sale or have I missed this wording in previous games?   Membership now required.    Say's the same for the City sale.

Match Ticket : Local General Sale
Buy online from 8.15am Friday 2 December.
Supporters must purchase a Membership by midnight on Wednesday 30 November and must also be registered with a 'L' postcode to be eligible to purchase tickets during this sale.
Tickets for this sale will be sold strictly on a first come first serve basis subject to availability and we cannot guarantee that tickets will be available to all that apply.

Not really a general sale anymore then is it?

I know they need to do something but surely a fan card should be good enough. (although neither will stop touting and makes it easier for those with fake addresses).

That's fucking dumb, cause it'll be likely going on your members card so people can tout £9 tickets for the bog standard price and no one would know, stupid from the club

Hmm, odd, reckon someone ballsed something up?

If someone here has a fancard (not membership) go on and see if you have the local general thing still in your purchase history.

Gave up at 8.45 and went and made a coffee. Came back and read a bit of the news. Popped back on here to see if anyone else had got one, thought I may as well give it one more go when I saw your post.

Got one straight away in 126. Nice one for the tip off!

Got 2 out of 3.

First two I got after a 3 minute wait.

Just had a 45 minute war with single seats and failed. Managed to get 1, but it was a Junior single so had to get rid. Ahhhh well.
