Be interesting to see how we cope early with any pressure from them, especially in the box. Not really sure how they are good to be different under Hughes. Maybe they'll play it a bit more on the ground which will suit us fine.

If we can neutralize them at set-pieces, then I don't see them scoring. Set-pieces for them is a major threat though with Kenwyne Jones, Huth, Shawcross, Nzonzi, Walters, Crouch all decent in the air. That's why Hendo will start today for some physical presence.

Coutinho will have to pick the ball up very deep to shine IMO as Nzonzi the brute will be on him further up the pitch. If Sturridge plays, he'll open them up with skill and will. Whoever picks him up will be in for a long 90mins(or however long he's on the pitch for). I'm not really confident in the likes of Aspas and Sterling for this game.

My prediction is a 3-1 victory to us as I think they'll score from a set-piece.

I think Henderson is playing because he's more comfortable than Allen playing that tucked in left side position which allows us to play/move Coutinho inside and outside and be a #11 or #10.

We should be fired up for this game and it will tell us a lot about the attitudes of the players. If we dominate and play well then it bodes well for the season. If we huff and puff and it's a tight game then I fear that we'll limp along with a similar year to last year.

He'll play off the left, Hendo will start in the midfield 3 in to help combat Stoke's physical/shithouse presence in there.

Mainly as the No. 10. Henderson tucking in from the left, but I think we'll see a lot of interchanging of positions throughout the game.

As fearful as I have been in the past meeting any Stoke side I think this outing will show our class over them. I think while Hughes will make them poorer as combative team our major advantage will just be pure skill fuelled by buoyant home crowd.

Coutinho and whoever is to his side and in front of him will be simply too much for them and indeed I'm hoping they'll embarrass the likely relegation candidates.

Mignolet and our our new back 4 are likely to be tested - Stoke will inevitably have their moments - but even if we concede I still see us netting 3.

Class, skill, excitement and ambition to impress the manager will ensure we're top of that league at 3:00.

The inclusion of either Allen or Henderson with SG & Lucas may not be important for this game, that tactic may be more pertinent on another day.

I can't wait to see the team, Aspas will certainly get his first Anfield PL experience.

Agreed. Bu t have to say i'm very surprised Aspas got the wing slot ahead of Ibe and Sterling with both playing very well in pre-season. Has Aspas played there at all in pre-season. Can't remember.

Despite Stoke's physical presence Liverpool should be able to defeat them easily.
I do not think we will need Luis Suarez for this game.
