Wolfmother and Jet are great shouts.
Another couple of bands that seemed to come out around the same time as Jet were

The Datsuns from NZ I think. Can’t remember if they were much good mind. Also The Vines who were decent but think the singer really suffered with his mental health. Went to see them at Norwich UEA, up there with one of the worst live bands I’ve ever seen.

Went to see The Paper Kites at the start of the year. They were excellent.

Lucky enough to see 'The Necks' last year.

I love this band, missed them in Birmingham where they utilised the town hall organ a few years back instead of the piano, and i just don't like Organ music. Reviews weren't great either, but they are pretty impressive over the 30 odd boots I have of them, and their equally extensive official discography. My middle son moves to Melbourne next month so he should have a chance of seeing them.

It's been a long time since I heard the name Wolfmother and far longer since I could hear it without thinking of this. Still much better than Jet, though. At least they can write a vaguely original riff.

Yeah, I'm with Patton on that one. Jet and Wolfmother ain't my bag.

A mate of mine had a chance to join Jet before they hit big. I asked him if he regretted it. Not for one second!
