Sorry for Joe, but he was painful to watch today. Hes mostly in the way in the midfield, and lost an endless row of passes. Trent inverting is a threat with his incredible passing, but Gomez doesnt have that quality

Why doesn’t he make greater use of his physique and try to score a header on a corner rather than shooting from daft places and angles?
he stays back for most corners to use his speed to counter quick breaks.
I know he does, he’s pretty much always done that, probably because he’s average in the air and not the best at attacking them. Carragher was the same but Carragher wasn’t shooting from 20-30 yards every week.
I want him to score asap to get the comms - all of the bastards are doing it now - to STFU with the smirky "never scored in his career" comments each time he has a go, or even gets into shooting range.

I know, because it was probably the lowest % play on the field. As is Joe shooting. If he wants to score so bad do it like any other centre half and get on the end of a cross into the box. The crowd need to stop with the shouts but he also needs to stop wasting attacks with shite efforts.
Maybe there has been a couple games where he has but I don't think he particularly has more shots than Robbo. People just noticing it because commentators always banging on about the goal thing this season.
His constant shooting when anywhere near the goal is starting to become so annoying. The one at the start of the second half was quite frankly horrific, on the half turn, on his left foot with two players free wide left.
Jeez it's like the old days everyone piling into the Gomez thread. Let's remember why he's been playing on the left because of injuries and inconsistent performances of other players. I am all in favour of Robbo playing but besides his injuries he's also been inconsistent which has been the reason why we've had to try Gomez somewhere else.

He's not a left back is he? He has been forced to fill in due to injuries and inconsistent performances in other players. He has done a perfectly good job, all things considered.
Unfortunately, we will continue to invert him until Trent gets back, he is the extra player in midfield. He's not comfortable there, but that's his job, and Joe's been doing his job well. More players coming back will give us more options.
It’d be easier for him if he were doing it from RB. If we’re committed to inverting a FB (it’s basically a counter attack preventative measure isn’t it) then arguably Robbo needs to be playing right now. Although it’d be sad to see Bradley lose his place.
Bradley has been looking a bit tired and is maybe due a rest.
