Apologies in advance for this but...

To the tune of Magic by B.o.B. / Rivers Cuomo

He's got the magic in him
Every time he hits that ball it turns into goals
When he hits the pitch defenders snapping at him
Everybody knows he's got the magic in him

Now everybody wants a bit of Sturridge, Sturridge, Sturridge
Sturridge, Sturridge, Sturridge
Sturridge, Sturridge, Sturridge
Sturriiiiiiiiiidge
He's got the magic in him

I'll get me coat.
Roger Scruton was right about everything.

Shouldn't get a rehash of the Suarez song.

Why??

Because he deserves his own song. A rehashed song would show him we couldn't be arsed to be original.

Personnally I'd love a comeback of the Torres bounce and don't see a problem with it beeing a rehash.

The only rehash we should do is the Colin Pascoe song. Great tune that's easy to rememberer. It really shouldn't have been used for a member of the coaching staff!

I think the Torres song would work well with Sturridge. Someone posted new lyrics before, but I liked how It ended with 'he dances when he scores' Also believe it would get everyone bouncing again :D

Do these songs ever get sung?

I don't get to Anfield often anymore, but I cant say I have ever really heard songs sung bar the obvious Steee Gerrard and Suarez one

No, not really. Mainly because people try to be too smart and create songs that aren't catchy in the slightest.

Maxi Rodriguez chant is still up there with my favourites - and it was simple as hell.

Yeah that Sturridge one in 5/4 time with the awkward key change was never going to work. Or the Skrtel Rhumba. Still holding out for a polka for Firmino though.

Ah great tune! To the air of Bad Moon Rising isn't it? I remember the first time I heard it, outside a pub in Liverpool, and I laughed my balls off. For those that haven't had the pleasure ...

Here's my rattle at it to that tune anyway ...

Ohhhh his name is Daniel Sturridge
He wears the red number fifteen
Watch him score again and then go dancing
Daniel Sturridge, Lib'pool goal machine

My lyrics mightn't be too hot but the more I think about it, the Bad Moon Rising air is great (definitely too good to slip into obscurity with Pascoe) and something should be done with it to fit a song for Sturridge. Its the type of simple, rhythmical tune that is more and more rousing the more its repeated, kind of in the spirit of some of the best modern Liverpool songs - Torres, Maxi, Rafa and Poetry in Motion.

People write a multiple verse song to a tune that isn't that catchy, don't go the pubs/games themselves and then wonder why none of them get sung.

I mean it's nice that people are trying, but people need to stop trying to recreate Liverbird Upon My Chest

This could work mate, how can we get it out though? So many good songs on this thread but they just end up been ignored? Maybe start a new thread and ask people for their opinion on this particular song? We could even change the words if needs be?

Yeah if in doubt, why not use one for someone who has left? I mean I understand perhaps the Luis Garica one as he won the European Cup with us. But to be honest we're at the stage now where I'd rather get one going.

I mean I liked the "Next thing you know he was running through again, singing oh my diddy diddy dum diddy do" but obviously it's way too long and difficult for people to remember, so fair enough, stick it on the back burner.

ITS DOWN TO STURRIDGE

This thread needs jibing. Can you request from admin for it to be locked?

Some people have really good ideas for tunes/songs and rather than discussing them other people just post directly under it with a tune/song that they like! That's fine but we should discuss the previous one before we move on. 28 pages in and over a year this thread has been active?  That says enough.

Rehash of the Torres song for me.it may seem weird at first but once the kop starts bouncing again nobody will get a shit.

We do the clap, clap, clap clap, clap, STURRIDGE! which is the same as wgat we did for Suarez, Torres & Fowler so why no use the same tune? As long as the words are different then it doesn't matter for me.
We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

When Sturridge is on the ball
There is nothing stopping him
So don’t plan on stopping him at all
He’s gonna score forever and ever
He shoots when he gets the ball
And tells every girls shes the one for him
Just plan to give this lad the ball
He’s gonna score forever and ever

First name Danny, last name Sturridge
He gets a strained ankle but when fit bosses it
Started off at villa, then city then rent boys
He scores for us on a regular basis though
Fuck off city we got him now, bossing it
You insist you’ve got more class, don’t talk shit
You’re swimming in the money, but we’re fine with it
We are the club where dreams are made of Lennon said it
Drop the shoulder he goes past the defender, they can’t outrun
When he’s through on goal there’s only one outcome
Scoreboard with his name on it written often
Everybody loves him now, we did when he had none
£12 mil is a brilliant piece of business
Transfer committee had him on their hit list
Everybody who doubted him is asking for forgiveness
If you ain’t been a part of it, at least you got to witness, bitches
