I'll start messing around with the line-ups. Hard to gauge the strength of the side when you'e never seen most people play. :) If we go from the 18 we've got, we have 6 outfield subs. I have 3 people in mind who already said they'll be sub. Also, would be useful to hear everyone's honest assessment  of their fitness - i.e. how long they're likely to last. We're gonna go rolling subs as well.

Will probably finalise the line-up with Nige when he returns online.

I'm a sub all the way.  I'm not very good and I have been fitter (when I was running marathons up to about 2 years ago but I reckon I will be able to run about a fair bit.

I am however a master tactician and look rather good in profile.

OK, sound. Is Tommy right or left winger?
Probably gonna play 4-4-2 as that's the formation majority are gonna be used to and we'll keep our shape better.

Either apparently (used to play for fulham as a school boy, told me not to mention it, i have.)  The other lad apparently had trials for pompy as a kid.

I on the other hand, held down a place in a birkenhead sunday league side for 11 years *Blinks back the tears*

Got a long throw on me.

Cool.

Well to give you an idea, I've played to Ryman Premier standard, I've scored two goals at the Kop end and one at The Academy.

But .....

I've not played for two years!  ::)

How is your fitness? To be honest, given that we've only got 2 Centre-Backs in that squad, probably would make sense to start you and Nige in the middle of the defence.

I then think it would make sense to start Col @ CM in front of Nige as they've played together before with J-PH up front - an iLFC spine.

Obviously, might be getting ahead of myself here a bit but if we do make it Moscow, we can easily get a game against "Spartak" (Moscow) fans. Arranging a game against the other finalist's fans might prove a tad difficult logistically.

Keep your mobile with you - the floodlights are dim if it's the same place.

Right, Luca wasn't on msn today when I had the chance, but we'll know the venue tomorrow, I'll text him now.  I'm sure it's sorted.

how did Inter do v. Roma the other night ?

OK, finally the pitch details. It's neither of the places previously mentioned & much closer to the centre.

It's a new generation Astro at a sports centre called 'Baggio 2' behind the San Siro

Via Olivieri 3. We'll meet there 8-8.15 for a 9pm KO (but most of us will be meeting somewhere else first & I'm waiting to hear if Luca is offering us lifts like last time )

I'l get a map link and stick it in here... shortly.

Referee & linesmen all sorted. Astro shoes only.

Yes to everyone. Come along for a game or the craic. their bar after is gonna be brilliant. Bring flags etc.

Nige, just did a spot of googling - it seems it's Via Olivieri 11 for "Baggio 2"?

Yeah, that's it.

It's only about 3 miles from our hotel & looks walkable from Biscelgie metro station, which is on the same line as our hotel, but I guess we'll be doing lifts or taxis.

I'll bring the Cuddly bears kit. It still looks fine in anything but close up ( and we're never gonna look fine in close-up anyway). Got 14 shirts & shorts, will buy some a few new pairs of  socks today (cos iLFC need them anyway), but will encourage people to bring their own LFC shorts & socks.

MUST be all red. Anyone wearing random colour shorts or socks makes the whole team look daft, affects my concentration  and thus causes silly injuries and/or spectacular cock-ups.

Via Alessio Olivieri? Several Metro stations within walking distance if so which is handy. Might come aong and support Rawk FC then!  :scarf

Does their bar afterwards do food do you know? Or should we eat beforehand? Only get into Milan about 6pm and will have been up since 4am so going to needs something at some point. Cheers.

I then think it would make sense to start Col @ CM in front of Nige as they've played together before with J-PH up front - an iLFC spine.

You do know he can't see don't you?!

Looking forward to this now, 1 week to go!

We may be joined by my mate Jamie in Milan Pata (one of the originals from our last trip to Milan) good player, will slot in anywhere but I think plays in midfield.

On the hotel/meeting place/pitch/metro logistics thing - may be useful to have mobile numbers. I'll be travelling with JP and Col, I have Nige's number but not yours Pata, can you PM?  :wave
