They gave wolves over 5300 in the last round so expecting similar.

Thanks mate.  Any idea what we will need to qualify?  We've got MK Dons and ManU from ages ago.

It'll sell out but a lot of people with tickets will be in Qatar!

Looking forward to this. Think part of our allocation will be behind the goal, the old away end.

Will be a weird one thats for sure

Was it FA cup or league cup away at villa that had a delayed kick off and the game didn’t start until something like 10pm? Can’t recall the match at all other than we won

Yes was the 2002-03 quarter final, got delayed by 80mins due to crowd congestion. We won it 4-3 with a Murphy injury time winner at nearly 11pm!! After being 3-1 up & cruising, we got pegged back to 3-3 then Murphy did his magic.

And we won it that year as well, beating the Mancs 2-0.

I think it will depend on the cost. I can see a few who have every league cup away from the last 10 years or so not bother. A Villa fan I spoke to reckons we'll get the same as what Wolves got which was 5.3k

I can’t see it being anything different to the Wolves match so £10 for adults and £5 for kids.

i thought it was delayed due to a power failure on the floodlights?

For some reason Villa decided not to post tickets out, leading to massive queues of people picking them up on the night.

From memory it was something to do with ticketmaster tickets. Late kick off and no refreshments in the ground at all. Really cold night as car was iced over. Memorable away to be fair.

Probably the only case credit hunting can almost be justified. If you genuinely attend all games on your own card and you've already booked Qatar then I think most wouldn't want to see someone miss a credit (and possibly future games) due to that. Circumstances that have not really happened before isn't it.

I also think the club should be doing free tickets for this one - or heavily subsidised. (Having said that I think Villa are doing some amazing prices anyway I think I read?).

Perhaps the club should offer no credit for this game, but still require credits to go or something. Nobody missed out then, and maybe a few more get the chance to go.

About 10 people are going to Qatar.  It'll have very little impact on this.

If you look at the numbers sold in the visa presale (16% of 10,000 to UK addresses) and then the 600 semi/900 final tickets sold through the club allocation you're probably looking at 2.5k minimum

6300 allocation for MK Dons.  I'm in same boat.  Only have that one.

Somebody posted this in the MK Dons thread of previous LC allocations:

Leicester, 3305
Southampton, 3330
Derby, 3100
Burton, 1646
Stoke, 2759
Southampton, 3099
Chelsea, 4004
Bournemouth, 1311
Man Utd, 7258

Going off that list then it will be any 2 of them inc MK but take off United. So 4004 tickets gone with 1300 left for anyone just with MK roughly based on what Wolves got there.

Sound about right?

Seems unlikely that all 4004 would have the Chelsea game and MK dons game - i’d factor that up to 500 haven’t and on that basis think it’ll be c3000 people competing for c1500 tickets.  That’s assuming of course that all who managed to get a ticket for MK want to try for this game now given that it’s going to be such a weird starting XI.

Well they will for the credit even if they don't intend to go.

I’d have thought most would, but not impossible that some would have bought for MK, and won’t fancy Villa (though probably less than 100).  Just as how the c7000 who bought for Utd didn’t cling on to every subsequent credit opportunity.

Doesn't count as a credit. Correctly IMO

I can see why they did it but also a bit disappointed. Was a good opportunity for some of the younger lads to perhaps get another away credit. People complain about the closed shop with home games but I do feel the rules for aways fans are slightly different.

I don't think that would have happened. People going to Qatar who qualified would have bought to make sure they had the credit. It would not have dropped to anyone with only MK as allocation lower than what Wolves got, or maybe a handful would have dropped to MK only.

Oh no doubt. It’s still a possible opportunity in any case. Like the club said, it’s an exceptional circumstance anyway so ah well.

Hopefully we draw United away soon  :)
