Talking of buildings that don't have to be huge to make an impact, I can't believe that nobody has mentioned Oriel Chambers right here in Liverpool. It may be fairly unassuming what it is undoubtedly one of the most important and influential buildings not just in Liverpool, but in the world. It was designed by Peter Ellis and was universally condemned --- for having too much glass!Anybody care to put a date on it without Googling it?
dont no how to get pictures up on here, but in barcelona, the houses that gaudi biult are amazing, they alook like they're carved out of wood!

In fact, this is the one! But it's not the best photo - otherwise you'd all agree with me that it in fact looks like a dead fish.
Casa Battlo? On same main street as La Pedrera (Passeig De Gracia) and in the same block as two other modernisme buildings by tow other achitects.
And my favourite, the Pantheon
plan of Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie
Can't quite get a handle on that auditorium. What's that thing in the ceiling? Is that the window? Bringing in natural light from above?Wonder what the acoustics will be like.
