He’s like Momo and Hendo in one package.
WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!

Normally a player can look great on tubes, but one of the things that's encouraging for me is just the amount of youtube videos on him

Yep, I agree mate.
We have a top class replacement and better overall!

The way he runs up to his opponent- or zips in from the side or the back... suddenly stecks out a leg and whoops! - dispossesed! Just amazing! It's like some sort of "high" for me.
That run-up looks like a classic pick-pocket!

We should call him Fagan the way he picks pockets.
We aren't walking through the storm now - we are the storm.

It's the differentiator between him and Can. Can loved getting forward but when it came to the defensive part he was usually 50/50 in his effort, Fabinho is 100% effort in all areas.
Emre Can is a kid in a park chasing after the ball. Fabinho is a tactically intelligent footballer who sees the game in terms of space.

This.  I didn't mind the yellow at all as that was a professional foul in the purest sense.  Fabinho + Virgil is a recipe for long-term success.

The game changed when he came on and he was brilliant yet again. Seems to play even better when he's pressed and hasn't go much space to move. Brilliant.

Looked tired towards the end, which is probably why he was rested for this match. Think that rest might come at Fulham instead now.

He wasn't dropped. He had played a lot, so it was more a case of resting him. Klopp said words to that effect after the game vs Bayern.

Exactly this. He said that he's played in every game along with Wijnaldum and that they prepared everything with Hendo being involved

It's not out of the question that one of them gets rested against Fulham

Its a difficult job coming in so early into such a big game and his first few minutes showed that, but he caught on fast and was absolutely boss after that. His presence allows the other midfielders far more freedom in playing those few extra yards higher up the pitch. So so tidy and keeps getting better and better. He's become one of our mainstays this season and will hopefully keep that up for the next several seasons. What a signing!

Klopp said that Hendo's legs were a bit fresher. Totally acceptable reason for him to start the game. Hendo was perfectly fine starting there at the beginning of the season and we got a lot of good results with Hendo at 6. Bad luck with the injury.

The international break is coming at a good time, although I fear quite a few of our squad will be involved. Hopefully they don't pick up any injuries or get worked too hard.

Should be one of the first names on the team sheet, might be ironic that Hendo getting injured helped get this lad on the pitch.

Reads the game so well, always one step ahead.

Got to agree with this.

Generally brilliant but had a really poor last 10-15 of the 1st half. Wasn't the only one. After going 1-0 up we made some poor decisions and our game management was poor. Lost control of things for that spell and it wasn't because Bayern were brilliant either. 2nd half was very good. Felt a lot of that was down to the influence Fabinho and Milner had in midfield. Thought both were outstanding in helping us control the game.
I think Jookie might just be the best fisherman on this thread.

Fucking James body checked him on the free kick - ref should have reversed it. Instead even the camera's were showing a replay - and all our players fell asleep for the restart and they scored.

Was it houllier who talked about captains in each area of the pitch? So in this team Virgil's clearly the captain at the back, Bobby's the captain of the front 3, for me at the moment Fabinho's the midfield captain. That's not to disrespect Henderson, our actual captain, as such - it's just the rhythm of our play seems to beat from Fabinho at present.

He's so direct too. Almost every pass he looks to make feels like it's forward.
3 midfielders minimum in the next window. And probably another young CB to boot.

Anything else is negligent.

My point is that a massive game like yesterdays is NOT the game to be resting him in. It would be like resting van dijk yesterday just for rotation
