In order for a campaign to be curtailed, 51% of sides in any given EFL division need to agree to it
Really doesn't seem a fair way to do it. There will always be more clubs happy with the status quo than those that are not. Every team in a promotion place will want the season to end, as will some play-off clubs and all clubs outside of the relegation zone that could fall into trouble. Then you get the clubs that are mid-table with nothing to play for. You're looking at 3/4 clubs max that would have more to gain than they would have to lose by carrying on - in this instance, probably just Bradford, Port Vale and Stevenage. The latter should be fuming if they are relegated given the problems at Macclesfield.
I imagine League 1 will follow suit later today for the same reasons.
To me, the decision should be taken out of the clubs hands. If the EFL doesn't think its economically viable to continue or possible from a health and safety point of view then it should be curtailed. By putting it a vote, I guess they're saying there would be a way to continue?
