I know we have a lot of expertise at the club but a player going 20 months without injury and then getting injured after a triple training session does sound pretty questionable.

Seen something that said it was a slight knock on his ankle. And will be fine for Monday.

Sounds like it's just an ankle knock so hopefully back after a little rest. The 3 training sessions of such intensity in a day quote did/does give me the fear though!

Mental isn’t it. Almost like 3 sessions in a day is way too much. Watch them drop like flies again.

but you can’t honestly think they’d do it if it was medically proven ‘too much’?

I get people are nervous about injuries after last year, but I don’t get the presumption of fans with no actual access to how they work, to think they know better than medical people and those doing the training, who I presume are also highly qualified to do so.

Given our track record assuming competence is probably not sensible at the moment. Let’s have a season without unprecedented numbers of games missed through injuries before we confidently rely on our team to make sane calls.

Firmino had a “knock” last season which kept him out for 10 games. Let’s hope this one is actually a knock and he’s back training in a few days.

I heard it's a miner injury. Pit explosion. Collapse of the coal face. Broken limbs and toxic fumes. Quite what he was doing down there in the first place, god knows. But he'll be out for a while.
