Also, what's probably pissed him off even further after being dropped was sitting watching Elliott's first half performance. He gave the ball away a few times and one was a dangerous counter. He wasn't very brave in an attacking sense and kept giving the ball back. He might have felt the pressure of Salahs strop you never know.

I'm guessing he would have expected to come on sooner rather than later and getting on after 80 minutes would again be another little thing that's wound him up.

Origi was worth ten Nunezes. Good old Divock.

Checked out JK Rowling's favourite series, Baby Reindeer. Surprisingly for a Netflix production, it wasn't dishonest and over-dramatised. Seeing broken and traumatised people make bad decisions always leaves one with a sense of gratitude for one's own life, and this had that effect.

Managers don't have time and emotions come into play.

They tend to prefer players from leagues they are familiar with. Look at Ten Hag for example. Rafa focused on Spanish players and Jurgen wanted Brandt over Mo. Gérard signed some players from Ligue 1.

We want the best players and the analysts are in the best position to pinpoint them. It also helps that they are not emotional in their decision making.

You would hope that analysts at least look at any players suggested by the manager. And then explain to the manager why that player might not be considered. And the manager will respect that they have done their homework and accept their findings. All part of having a harmonious relationship.

I don't believe sporting directors or even the data nerds are entirely immune from emotion and personal bias affecting their decisions but it's good to have a system that has built-in checks and balances to minimise the impact of emotion-based decision-making.

And yes, of course - Antony and Onana are perfect examples to support the argument against letting the manager have total control over transfers.

We had a big Indian takeaway for 7 people and nothing more annoying than eating the poppadoms and starters before discovering one of the meals is missing. Normally it’s mine, but not this time- too far away to go back and sort it out, had to share the food between us which was ok anyway as there is always too much!

Yeah that also happens to me! Whichever type of takeaway we order, if there’s an item missing it’s almost certainly mine

Liverpool FC Forum / Re: Are you enjoying it?
« Last post by SvenJohansen on Today at 10:12:31 am »
I'm not enjoying it anymore so I'm taking a break from football as soon as this season finishes. Everything that Jwils, bradders and GreatEx said above sums it up for me. There's so much wrong with football right now. And it's not just in the PL, although that's the majority of games I watch. It's worldwide and it stinks from the top down.

The officiating and VAR in the PL has ruined any enjoyment I get from watching matches. And then there's the corruption, bias, greed, cheating, unfairness, toxic banter, tragedy chanting, hatred of opposition fans, player abuse, racism, tired narratives from the media and supporters, sportswashing, the bending & breaking of rules and lack of punishments for them, the boring and insufferable pundits and commentators to name just a few reasons. There's so much to dislike about football these days. So it's time to leave it to one side for a while.

I'll still be a Liverpool FC fan and always will be but I will follow from afar. I intend to not watch our matches, or at least only a handful. I'm curious to see what happens after Klopp goes but I won't allow football to take up so much of my time anymore. My life is more important. It will be difficult to not get sucked back in but it won't take long to see the bigger picture again. It's just not worth it any longer.

5 years on from the release of Endgame in cinemas.

It feels longer, because Marvel haven't released a single decent movie since then. I'd be surprised if they can fuck up Deadpool v Wolverine though.
