I'm not so sure. I can see that being repealed. It was so ridiculous it is untrue.

If kompany is out for both legs then it becomes 50-50 for me with no Ya Ya or Kolo Toure too. Probably Savic and Lescott at the back.

The shame here is that United are winning so easy that City can effectively down tools now and start to protect players. There's no way they are coming back into this game so Mancini might as well take Silva and Aguero off on the hour and save their legs.

Would be much better if it was close to the end and there were more tackles flying about. United will get 6 here.
They wouldn't even discuss repealing Barton's red card. And there have been other ridiculous decisions in the past. The ref saw it and dealt with it. FA would never question a ref's decision like that. They will just say it was a two footed tackle and that's it.

He's right though isn't he ?

This game is over. I'd have taken Aguero off too with the striker shortage they've got.

Course he is yeah.

Taking solace from the fact that Aguero et al are still on the pitch like.

And that goal might just make them run a little harder. Hopefully.

Yep. I am guessing Dzeko and Balotelli are not too serious or Aguero would be off and the young lad would be on.

Ideally a United player will get sent off before they get a 4th so it becomes an even contest for the last 30 mins.

The lack of Kompany for the match is not something to be overlooked, hoping for a reverse of our last tie.
I watched a YouTube video and decided that Paul Konchesky looked like a player.

Or what they have now with Lecott and Richards in the middle and Milner at right back? Would think Clichy will come back in on the left. Barry is back for our game isn't he?
Zabaletta would play right back in that instance I think. Savic is their spare centre back so I reckon he will play.

Must say City played really well even with 10. Gonna be a harder game than expected. Not that i thought it would be easy in the 1st place but even with their main men not available still gonna put up a damn good fight. We should beat them tho.
We just leave them be for a while, take a breather, let them settle, then bang!  All over them like a tramp on chips.

It might be unfashionable to say this, but James Milner is a great player, and a worker to.  Almost single handedly chasing the ball for the last 10 mins while United were playing it around.
Rossiter absolutely bossed it tonight. Really believe he'll end up playing more games this season than Lucas.

That game was almost perfect for us in terms of boosting our chances for this semi.

Kompany out (hopefully) of both legs is enormous. Along with Ya Ya Toure and Silva he is their most important outfield player.

City with 10 men working their socks off all the way and yet getting beat. I'd have preferred a draw but beggars can't be choosers.

PS. Milner was MOTM by a mile.

Which would be hilarious!!!! hahahaha

In all seriousness though, I don't see it being rescinded. Never a red in a million years for me. But I suppose technically, by the letter of the law, it was a two footed challenge and there is not enough there to suggest any real injustice for the FA to take notice of an appeal.

But will then miss a League game down the line and possibly an extra one for a frivolous appeal. It was a 2 footed tackle however harsh it seems.

So Kolo, Yaya and Kompany all out for at least our first leg with them? All 3 were brilliant against us, that is terrific news!
The first leg is away, so we don't need to go out and risk conceeding goals - a 1 goal loss or a draw would be perfect. I do think we need to score, they will most likely score at Anfield.

More optimistic now.

Opinion of the fella doing the live text on BBC:

Quote
1532: So Roberto Mancini has confirmed the club will appeal the red card shown to Vincent Kompany. I'd be very surprised if the FA overturn it. You've got to imagine they will back Chris Foy interpretation, even if it is widely believed to be harsh.

If the red card is upheld he will get 3 for the straight red and one extra for it being his second red card of the season.

Kompany won't make much of a difference, our lack of creativity from midfield will be the biggest problem. They know that and can afford to sit back and counter us knowing we offer very little going forward, harsh I know but true.

It won't get rescinded, by the letter of the law he had both feet off the floor straight red.

Personally thought it was a sublime tackle and it's one of them that a ref with a pair of balls would of used a bit of common sense told Rooney to shut up and let the game continue.

I agree with you Tomo but nothing the FA does surprises me. The Wolves red card NOT being overturned was ridiculous so don't be surprised if this one goes against the way you think.
