Sky news reporting Cummings received a 40% pay rise last year and reported earnings was between £140-145k.

That's before any kick-backs from his chums for getting them £multi-million Covid contracts without having to go to tender

Lots of MPs deceived themselves into thinking this problem only existed within the Asian (Pakistani) community. Either they were ignorant or deliberate in their claims. Its despicable and needs a zero tolerance approach irrespective of race

Johnson might as well not turn up for PMQT, he either refuses to answer Starmers questions or he tells him to stop moaning. seems Johnson doesn't feel the public have the right to ask him questions anymore.

Starmer mentioned this newsletter during PMQT, this is the future of British politics under this Tory party. it should horrify people but probably won't even make national news. :butt :butt :butt :butt :butt :butt :butt :butt :butt :butt

Tory activists have been urged to campaign like Donald Trump by “weaponising fake news” and talking “nonsense” if it works, in a party newsletter.

The bulletin sent out to members in Northamptonshire says “there are lessons that we can learn from Trump”, adding: “A lie can go round the world before the truth can get its boots on.”

It also vows to “fight woke-ism”, attacking Labour’s landmark Equality Act, designed to stamp out prejudice in the workplace and public services – arguing it “legalises discrimination based on gender”.

The newsletter, issued in Peter Bone’s constituency of Wellingborough, sparked a protest from one local Conservative, who says he was then dropped from the candidates' list for the seat.
Jack Summers told The Times, which revealed it, that he had received threatening phone calls warning him that his political career was over if he did not fall into line.

“I'm not willing to go along with what's being instructed,” he said.

“This is an attack on democracy. The Conservative Party has changed. It's not what I joined – it seems more like an English nationalist party than the Conservative Party.”
The newsletter says campaigners should view fake news as a technique that “crowds out genuine news” and allows “honest politicians” to be “pushed off the front pages”.

“You say the first thing that comes into your head,” it reads, adding: “It’ll probably be nonsense, but it knocks your opponent out of his stride and takes away his headline.

“You may get a bad headline saying that you spoke something silly, but you can live that down. Meanwhile your opponent is knocked off the news-feed”

The bulletin concludes: “Sometimes, it is better to give the WRONG answer at the RIGHT time, than the RIGHT answer at the WRONG time.”
Activists are also told that the lesson of the defeated US president is that “he Weaponises Fake News”.

“If you make enough dubious claims, fast enough, honest speakers are overwhelmed. If someone tweets ten dubious claims per day and it takes you a week to disprove each one, then you are doomed,” it says.

“Trump uses this tactic to dominate the news and to crowd out legitimate politicians.”

And, urging them to “fight Woke-ism”, it reads: “Positive discrimination and other forms of officially tolerated racism infuriate many voters.

“An example of the “deep state” woke-ism is the 2010 Equalities Act [sic].

“It actually legalises discrimination in politics based on gender. (Labour put this into the Act because they wanted to discriminate and didn’t want to break their own Law!)”

The Conservative Party has been asked to comment on the newsletter, issued earlier this month.

We view the last 4 yrs as a disaster, the Tories must view it as happy days. large majority. they've been allowed to lie with impunity on a large scale. got their destructive brexit through all based on lies. if we don't expose and attack the methods the used to achieve this then we might as well pack in.

Maitlis monologue about Cummings investigated by Ofcom

Emily Maitlis' Newsnight monologue about Dominic Cummings's breach of lockdown rules is under investigation by Ofcom.

In an opening monologue on the current affairs programme back in May, the 50-year-old newsreader accused Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson of "blind loyalty" as she addressed the "deep national disquiet" caused by the then-government adviser's actions.

The BBC's Editorial Complaints Unit ruled in September that the monologue did breach the corporation's strict rules on impartiality and accuracy. However, it said no further action would be taken.

Rees-Mogg having a pop at UNICEF today.  Apparently they ought to be ashamed of themselves for their cheap political stunt... which was to give some money to a community project in England to help feed starving children.

"it is meant to be looking after people in the poorest, most deprived countries in the world".  He said that, and the penny is still in no danger of dropping, is it?

I mean, they're feeding hungry kids, what the fuck is the problem with that?  Surely if you can't be arsed to do it yourself you'd be happy for someone else to do it? But no, he seems to be fundamentally opposed to the very concept of starving kids being fed. c*nt.

Truss has decided to abandon all pretence of caring about her Equalities brief then. Refounding the department along the lines of 'Conservative values'. It doesn't sound like it's going to bother with issues of racism, sexism (which is the failed policy of the left - "we haven't fixed racism guys! Let's stop trying!") and the like any more, instead focusing on geographic inequalities. Of course, it was governments displaying such 'Conservative values' that have led to these massively deprived areas in the first place.

Senior hard-right Tories, led by uber-evil bitchface Patel, throwing Tobias Ellwood under the bus for attending a business dinner the day before London went into Tier 3.

I'm sure he's not the only Tory MP to have attended business dinners in the past few weeks.

But he is one of the few current Tories to have publicly criticised the Government's malevolent Brexit negotiation fuckwittedness.

And, of course, the right-wing media toadies help line it up for her to smash.

Caught a bit of an item on LBC radio today and reference was made to an article in the New York Times which focuses on the extent to which the current Tory government have ‘awarded’ contracts without due process.  As most on here know, said contracts went to somewhat dubious recipients with ties to Tory ministers left right and centre.

Must be nice for government to be the focus of such overseas media scrutiny.  Tried to search for the article on the phone but NYT appears to be behind a paywall.

What a fucking dispicable nutcase

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/liz-truss-equality-foucault-b1776142.html

Quote
Parts of a controversial speech given by cabinet minister Liz Truss have been pulled from the government's website amid concerns about its content.

The speech was branded "bonkers" by critics after the Tory claimed children in her class at school were left unable to read or write because too much time was taken up learning about racism and sexism.

The minister, who went to school in Leeds under Margaret Thatcher's government, said children had been deprived of a proper education and "business opportunities".

But after appearing in full yesterday on gov.uk, by Friday lunchtime large swathes of the speech had been cut and replaced with a note saying that "political content" had been redacted.

One such redacted passage, which included a bizarre rant about French philosopher Michel Foucault, read: "While we were taught about racism and sexism, there was too little time spent making sure everyone could read and write.

"These ideas have their roots in postmodernist philosophy - pioneered by Foucault - that puts societal power structures and labels ahead of individuals and their endeavours.

"In this school of thought, there is no space for evidence, as there is no objective view - truth and morality are all relative.

A company set up only in May this year, during the height of the Covid crisis, was given a £122m contract to provide sterile surgical gowns to the NHS. The contract was not put out to tender.

Those gowns remain unused as they have not been approved by the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-55275597

What the BBC article fails to mention (another example of managing the news narrative from a pro-Tory bias) is that the contract was handed to an associate of a Tory Peer (the company founder quit as a consultant to Tory Peer Michelle Mone's company, and started his PPE Medpro Ltd company the very same day, 'winning' the contract within a few weeks)

Nobody involved in the company has any history of providing PPE. The two directors of the company are based in the tax haven of the Isle of Man.

Labour MP Bill Esterson describes it as the 'definition of corruption'.

Jolyon Maugham tweeted at the time "Another hugely lucrative PPE contract has been awarded to a firm with no obvious qualification beyond links to very substantial donors to the Conservative Party."

https://www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/handing-122m-ppe-contract-to-tory-peer-associate-is-the-definition-of-corruption-mp-says/09/10/

https://twitter.com/JolyonMaugham/status/1338423360821268480

Scratch the surface of these dodgy deals paid for by the taxpayer, and you will find fatcat Tory scum stuffing their faces, and in return donating cash to the Tory Party.

This is the most corrupt government in living memory.

We taxpayers are basically funding the Tory Party through the Tory Party handing corrupt contracts to crooked business people, who in turn give 'donations'  the to Tory Party.

But hey, Brexit. 'Taking back control'.

And the idiots who voted for these lying, crooked oxygen thieves STILL won't see past their red, white and blue-tinted glasses. Rule Bri-fuckin-tannia.

So Manchester Police taken to task and the head of it having to resign after they aren't recording crimes?

Forget that fact that police are at their lowest numbers since the 80s and forget that they are being forced to close police stations.

Then forget the fact that although their numbers are being decimated, because other services that would deal with many other things are gone - the Police now have to handle that as well. Which gives them even less time with fewer officers.

In fact. Don't forget any of that.

This is typical Tory behaviour. Fuck a service/function up and then blame the service for that issue. Then offer to bring in someone like G4S to 'help out' and before you know it, you've got private police who don't even work for the government arresting people and swanning around running the place.

I'd like to say this sounds like Science Fiction - something like Robocop -  but it's so obvious that it's painful.

Then offer to bring in someone like G4S to 'help out' and before you know it, you've got private police who don't even work for the government arresting people and swanning around running the place.

I'd like to say this sounds like Science Fiction - something like Robocop -  but it's so obvious that it's painful.

G4S is so 2010.

Nowadays, it'd be a newly-created company owned and run by a relative or public school chum of some senior tory twat. Untendered for, obvs.
A Tory, a worker and an immigrant are sat round a table. There's a plate of 10 biscuits in the middle. The Tory takes 9 then turns to the worker and says "that immigrant is trying to steal your biscuit"

That article was the subject of a discussion on LBC radio yesterday.  Very detailed and informative, cheers.

Who out of Johnson/Gove/Cummings/Hancock/Patel will be first to register their entire extended family as company directors so they can have “business meetings” with them all at Christmas?

Can’t see Patel doing it. I think she’s sincere when she says she won’t be seeing her family, because she’s an awful human being and her family probably despise her anyway.

Maybe move Johnson out to longer odds, as he has no idea who half of his family even are.

So from what I've just gathered from that BBC news report is that a Brexit deal with the EU is there apart from an argument over fucking fishing waters, give me strength!

Honest to fuck.

Extend the Brexit transition by 24 months. Regardless of whether it’s deal or no deal. Recall parliament (virtually) immediately.

Oh, and get rid of that useless fat fuck as PM.

I wouldn't have a problem with a 24 month deadline to end transition but imo it would come over as a remain point of view rather than something necessary to help us get through the Covid winter etc crisis. said it a few times now I don't think it matters if your a remain or leave supporter Johnsons insistence on a 31 st December deadline was one of the most stupid irresponsible decision he's made especially since Covid hit. the 31st deadline should have been put back to when we have at least got Covid injections sorted.
If Covid had of hit 5-10 yrs ago Johnson would be telling us EU rules+regs say all UK children must be vaccinated for Covid and how he think's this is wrong. it should be up to UK Parents to decide if their children should be vaccinated for Covid. sort of lie Johnson thrived on for years.
It might take our producers five minutes to find 60 economists who feared Brexit and five hours to find a sole voice who espoused it.

The only people who care about the remain-leave tag are the fuckwit Brexiteer ultras in the media snd gobefnment looking for someone to blame for their incompetence.

Nobody serious is agitating to “stay” in the EU. Indeed, that is impossible - we have left. We’d have to ask to reenter. But as a country were on our knees, and extending the transition is the only way to prevent chaos like we’ve never seen in January. Johnson, Gove, Sunak and the like are criminals - pure and simple.

Problem is, he is probably the best the Tory party have. Certainly when you look at the cranks and loons and pure fucking evil bastards that would look to replace him.
