So the 23 Turkish employees who work at Saudi consulate say they were given "2 days off" by the consulate the day before Khashoggi's death, reason being "there is a diplomatic meeting with Saudi officials for 2 days".

By the way, Erdogan said that tomorrow he will give details about Khashoggi's death. A minister from his cabinet already said on Tv interview "Is there any way a murder can take place at an embassy without head of that country not knowing? Come on now. We won't let Saudi Arabia get away with that"

To my knowledge he contacts Washington Saudi Embassy and they said it has to be done in Istanbul, his fiancee Hatice Cengiz has said when he disappeared. So if this is the case, clearly Saudi embassy in Washington was instructed to do so. I am not if he was in US or Turkey when he made the call so either he was told so “because you are in Istanbul so it makes more sense to do it there” or most likely they needed a few days in advance and doing such crime in Turkey is easier as there is a better chance to get away they thought.

Surveillance footage shows Saudi 'body double' in Khashoggi's clothes after he was killed, Turkish source says

Istanbul (CNN) - A member of the 15-man team suspected in the death of Jamal Khashoggi dressed up in his clothes and was captured on surveillance cameras around Istanbul on the day the journalist was killed, a senior Turkish official has told CNN.

CNN has obtained exclusive law enforcement surveillance footage, part of the Turkish government's investigation, that appears to show the man leaving the Saudi consulate by the back door, wearing Khashoggi's clothes, a fake beard, and glasses.

The same man was seen in Khashoggi's clothing, according to the Turkish case, at the city's world-famous Blue Mosque just hours after the journalist was last seen alive entering the consulate on October 2.

The man in the video, identified by the official as Mustafa al-Madani, was allegedly part of what investigators have said was a hit squad, sent to kill the journalist during a scheduled appointment to get papers for his upcoming wedding.

yes she is Turkish and i think this is where Saudi Arabia screwed up and their "brilliant" plan didn't go well. Saudi Arabia thought he was traveling alone and he would come to embassy himself so once they complete their murder, they would just say "he left the consulate same day" and then if there is more pressure, they would show the body double's picture (who left the building with Khashoggi's clothes) as a proof he left and something maybe happened to him outside.

Not only his fiancee is Turkish but she has close connections to AKP and Erdogan's advisors. She said "my fiancee told me if i don't come out in 1 hour, something is wrong" and she has waited 3,5 hours then calls people around Erdogan. One of those folks said once we received the call we already had an idea he was killed inside.

In Post interview, Trump calls Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed a ‘strong person’ who ‘truly loves his country’

President Trump retreated late Saturday from his stance that Saudi Arabia’s story about the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi inside their Turkish consulate was credible but still gave a strong vote of confidence to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, arguing the United States’ relationship with the kingdom is key to his administration’s policy objectives in the Middle East.

“Obviously there’s been deception and there’s been lies,” Trump said in an interview with The Washington Post when pressed on the many discrepancies in the changing accounts from the Saudis. “Their stories are all over the place.”

He did not call for the ouster of Mohammed and instead praised his leadership, calling the prince “a strong person, he has very good control.”

“He’s seen as a person who can keep things under check,” he said. “I mean that in a positive way.”

The president said he does not prefer that another leader replace the 33-year old prince because he said he has read about others and Mohammed, known as MBS, is “considered by far the strongest person” and “he truly loves his country.”

In the interview, Trump made clear he has yet to be provided with any evidence that would make him believe MBS had direct knowledge that Khashoggi was going to be killed or order that it be done.

“Nobody has told me he’s responsible. Nobody has told me he’s not responsible. We haven’t reached that point. I haven’t heard either way,” he said. He added, echoing the Saudi version of events: “There is a possibility he found out about it afterward. It could be something in the building went badly awry. It could be that’s when he found about it. He could have known they were bringing him back to Saudi Arabia.”

They achieved what they wanted. Their plan was to terrify everyone who wants to be "rebellious" and open minded like him. Cutting his fingers just because he was a writer was a clear message to everyone who wants to follow his steps. Therefore i don't think the informations "leaked", they let them on purpose. Erdogan is just doing them a favor in fact, because the audio is probably part of the plan.
