Kenny has bought his Alan Shearer, every time i've seen him he's impressed me, surely a Liverpool forward line of Suarez/Carroll has got to be better than the virtually non existent forward line we've had for the past 18 months due to Torres either being injured or having a mood on, i actually think Suarez alone would have covered what we've seen from Torres for the last 18 months add Carroll into the mix and i think we've improved immensely.

Torres has looked like a former world class centre forward for the last 18 months and whilst he may recapture his form there is also a possibility he's on the slippery slope downward, he certainly seems to have lost a yard of pace, so once his pathetic dolls out of the pram moment arrived on Friday i was all for him being shipped out.

Torres was my favorite player but he's gone now so screw him. Andy was an absolute monster when we played them, so let's get it!

Thought he was hurt though?

Big bastard we love you, go and treat em cruel
Score another goal, and you'll make them cry
Defenders will shit themselves, when you pass them by

If I have to accept that my 2nd favourite player leaving was inevitable... then I'm made up that we signed this beast! Softens the blow slightly knowing we can sign players like this. Sends a message. I do feel for Newcastle, though, losing one of their own. Imagine Martin Kelly leaving in a seasons time.

I'm also rather pleased he turned down 'Arry.

Whenever I see him this starts playing in my head. It was Iron Man but then I remembered this little beauty and haven't been able to shake it yet.

Bloody shame he won't be able to play on wednesday. I'm sure Pulis' team talk would have changed completely from "Just give him a kick Ryan, he's not up for it much this year". You can bet that every team from Sunday onwards will have their defenders bear wrestling in the days leading up to playing against him. What the hell do you do? He is a monster. He's a very good footballer first and foremost but he's a monster. I bet Soto's a little apprehensive about training sessions at the moment.

I think I'm looking forward to seeing big Andy up front than Suarez. Probably because I've seen more of Carroll. I reckon he'll be immense.   8)

Isn't Suarez more of a winger / number 10?

So why not..

You've made me smile again.

Our new strike partnership has definitely got to be on par if not better than the ones in Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and <cough>Chelsea<cough>,
Football without fans is nothing.

We've won 18 titles, 5 European Cups, 7 FA Cups, but today must be the greatest victory of all.

Does he have a great touch for a big man?

Mate he's got the potential to be as good as someone like Shearer, good in the air, strong in his hold up play, will link the team better than two face, decent finisher, as i say he has the potential but if anyone can realise that potential and knows a thing or two about nurturing a striker it's KK.

I truly don't think I'd want to be a defender going up against those two. There is a non zero chance both are mental.

Joking aside, I've enjoyed watching NUFC this year because of Carroll. He works hard on the pitch. If Kenny tells him to run through a brick wall, he'll do his damnedst to knock that sucker down. From what I've seen of him (mainly at the WC) Suarez is not afraid to put some work in on the pitch either. Excited to see them together.

Found this while reading up on AC:

Buffon hails Magpies starlet

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11678_2632503,00.html

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon believes Newcastle United youngster Andy Carroll has a big future ahead of him.

Despite Carroll being on the end of a nasty collision with the Italy international in Sunday's friendly, Buffon was full of praise for the teenager.

Buffon believes the young striker's awareness and ability to bring other players into play will make him a real asset for Newcastle.

"Carroll played like what we call in Italy a paintbrush striker," Buffon said in the Daily Express.

"He was there to add the finishing touch. He played well on his own.

"He will be an asset because he can find the smaller players around him in different ways and has already shown he has great awareness."

I can wait for Carroll to have Terry in his pocket when we next meet Chelsea.  For once, we have a striker (last 5 years)  that can physically dominate EPL defenders.  This is one option that we never had.  Better still, he is going to suck so many defender to him that  RM, Gerrard and Suarez will have more space to work their magic.  Our defenders can also come in with less challenge during freekicks/corners to steal a goal or two every now and then.

Let give them our support and cheer the team on because there will be teething problems integrating the new members.  So lay off the heavy stuff/the boos for the next 3 months.
