Right.... We've never beat them at home for the past 5 seasons and they are in for a drubbing???

We beat them at home less than three years ago. And the year before that as well.
We have to change from doubter to believer. Now.

First game under Rodgers were I'd say we really have to get all 3 points. Enough draws now, we have to get wins on the board or we'll fall further and further behind the top 5/6.

routine win for me isnt that, Norwich was a bit of a mad game. We won confirtably yes.

Im talking about a regular game that isnt mental like a 5-2 or 4-0.........Just a regular old 2-0 or 3-0 comfortably at home where we arent concending loads of chances.

I think the last one I can recall at Anfield is maybe bolton 3-0 ?

I just have no idea how to feel before games anymore. It was always pretty easy in the past. Super confident, fairly confident, a little bit nervous or really nervous.
Now I just go into the match like it is a M. Night Shyamalan movie, it is best to know as little as possible and hope the inevitable twist near the end is one that benefits us.

I've no confidence whatsoever that we'll win this one. Why would I have? Expecting another high possession-low chance performance with Wigan scoring on the break in a 1-1 draw. Hope i'm wrong but that's how I see it.

Hopefully the post match thread won't be awash with people excusing dropped points against Wigan "We always struggle against Wigan, you can't expect Rodgers to turn that around, 12 games into his reign".

I think we'll beat them 3-0.

With the fixtures ahead bar the odd couple which are difficult, it's time players raise their level and win some games. This is a very big game.

Honestly, Im just afraid if we go into half time all square, concede an early goal in the second(between 45-55), they will defend for their lives and hold out for the win(ala spuds not too long ago).If we get a goal up in the first half hour say, im fairly confident that the settled nerves will allow us a little bit more composure whilest taking our chances.

Anyone else worried by the fact that most of our squad travelled during midweek? I think people like gerrard and sterling especially might be feeling the game still in their legs.Hope we at least bring on assaidi to rotate with sterling in the second half, and perhaps jonjo for gerrard if we have a little bit of breathing space in the game.

Even the idea of us leading just 1-0 with 10mins to go terrifies me. That would mean Wigan comitting men forward chasing the equaliser.

Against this team and at anfield, that scares me.

He's no friend of mine.
Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
"Come in", She said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm."

I might be in!

It's a bit of a cliche, but an early goal would really do us the world of good tomorrow.
If we can settle the nerves which must come from having so few wins at Anfield over the last 12 months then we really should be able to go about proving that we're capable of far, far better against Wigan than we've shown in recent years.
I'd like us to really take the game to Wigan by playing Assaidi and Sterling on the wings and Suso in an advanced central role.
I also hope it's a game where Sahin can shine. He's disappointed me in recent weeks, but I think given the right role, this should be a game where he can really pull some strings alongside Allen.
Would obviously take a scrappy 1-0 like anyone, but we should be capable of so much more.

this is what I think i would be looking for.Sahin to do some damage, ala west brom, and sterling and assaidi to rip em new ones along the wing.

Suso in a central role sounds like a good idea to me, but perhaps its a bit too early for him.Even players like silva learnt their trade coming in from the flanks initially... however that said, I dont see wigan as pressing us as hard as swansea and spuds will(our next 2 games), so I think it would be great to see suso in this position, at least for a small portion of the game if for some reason sahin isnt working out.
