They've got Gago and the other Diarra as well so doubt they are after him. Would take any of them over Poulsen though!

Hes a decent player but thats a bit overpriced and theres alot of other players i would rather spend 15m on in positions which are higher priority.

Just a hunch, but I think FSG will surprise us and spend some decent cash and grab an excellent young player or two this month. The Red Sox spill money like it's water, Henry and Werner want a winner, they've let the word out that Roy is a goner, and they'd like to entice a great new manager to come here in the summer. What better temptation to a prospective manager than to see new owners in a debt-free, world-renowned club spending money on exciting young players? It sends a very positive message. Let's cross our fingers and hope.

I think they have a point to prove to the fans, as well. There is such a depressing attitude at the moment that I think they need a morale booster for everyone involved at the club. A big signing would be a signal of intent, that they intend to return us to a position of strength. There is also the managerial situation, upon which it being successfully resolved for the short term would be a positive sign; but speaking strictly about players, I think even ten or fifteen million for one player would be massively welcome for the fans. We need a really impressive signing, one to go straight into the first team and be among our best players.

Lucas should start ahead of him, so we would just waste money on a bench player at most. We need to look for starters or at least cheaper youngsters.
We are reported to be interested in Elia, wouldn't mind him if we can get him for cheap. Same goes for N'zogbia.

If roy gets his wish (guessing it would be) and brings the likes of carlton cole or dempsey I would be really worrried about what the owners are thinking. As good as dempsey or cole are, they only deserve to be where they are now (west ham & fulham).

Huth is alright. Cole is a waste of space who scores with about the same regularity as Venus takes the orbit the Sun.

Suarez, Mertesacker, Mexes, Hazard, Turan etc....

I like really this kid but fail to see why we would be in for him when we have Lucas, they both play the same role for their countries and Lucas is probably more suited to playing the way we currently do and if we partnered both at CM it wouldn't work
Although we need more depth so maybe, he is going to be a top player, defensively he is very good, never stops moving, either offering an angle for a pass or to cut off angles for passes from the opposition.

Well they want to break up Lucas Meireles partnership, and put Lucas on the bench. We should be looking at wingers and defenders not midfielders where we are covered with Lucas Raul Gerrard and Shelvey

Bit off topic, sorry, but when he joined a club prior to Stoke the team he was joining were told on the coach on the way home from an away game. The players were told to keep it quiet until an official announcement was made by the Club but one of the players called a friend of mine to let her know. He obviously had to be really quiet which, when coupled with his accent, led to a much confusion involving my mate believing that the team coach had been pulled over by the police and said player was in trouble and needed help.

Apparently the player just kept saying "It's the police, the police is taking over!" in a hushed and agitated voice!

I do know that he was extremely well thought of as a manager and the Club were gutted to lose him so Stoke are definitely in safe hands.

I assume he's Poulsen's replacement in the squad, not Lucas's. (At which point Poulsen has to decide whether he remains here on large wages and plays in the reserves or accepts any offer that comes his way. A dilemma Roy was on about recently.)

I'm sure Comolli will have identified M'Vila as one of the best up and coming defensive central midfield players and I think he will be targetted to replace Lucas.

Forget Poulsen. They will already be working on a way to push him out of the door and FSG will have looked dimly on that signing when they assessed the Hodge.

24 in a couple of months and has never really lived up to his promise.

The main reason I wouldn't want him is because he'll cost us a fair wedge, and I just don't think he's worth spending money on when that money could be better put towards getting in someone like Hazard instead.
