We're a man down in midfield with Gakpo there, he's good at breaking forward but not a lot else, unfortunately you can probably say the same about Gravenberch. I'd be tempted to put Bradley in at right back and move Trent into midfield.

This is a real learning curve for some of our lads and the step up in intensity required in these big games.

Lacking a bit of urgency, energy and composure through the middle, lacking balance as expected on the left. Lacking the mixture of long balls out from the back with VVD missing.

Think we'd do well to take it back to Anfield to be honest at this stage.

The shirt pull was a foul but the dissent should have been a booking. White Orange should have been booked for pulling Jones back. Everytime there is any contact, the Arsenal players dive and the ref awards the freekick whist turning a blind eye to their constant fouls on our players.

It’s sort of like blaming Gomez for playing left back, the last two games Gakpo has played he has got a goal and assist and a disallowed goal that should have stood. This games he’s created our best chance, what more do you want from him, to be a top class midfielder out the blue also?

He didn’t create our best chance though. He played sideways pass outside of the area which Trent thundercunted against the bar. His run on the ball to create the space was very good though but that’s about all he did.

BTW - our best chance was probably the Nunez header.

I think Arsenal were always going to use the home advantage to come out strong and they have done, thankfully we're still level though. Not sure I've seen enough to think the second half will be much different. I'd bring Jota on as there's no danger he's on too long with no extra time. Gravenberch at some stage too I imagine then the bench looks very young. Start working Ramsdale more and we could be in business.

That is about what was expected. Our defense is hanging on by a tread, and we are up against an Arsenal in "crisis" at home. They need this win a hell of a lot more than we do. They were always going to be super gung-ho. We defended very well with that lineup.
Mac Allister is a very frustrating footballer. All the technique in the world, but could be faster of thought at times.

Need to sometimes go for the long ball when they're pressing rather than carrying on trying to go short when we've run out of options.

Agreed. Arsenal had the better first 15-20. Then we grew into it from 20 - 40 or so. Then a mixed 5 minutes from both teams. Some people just like to exag.

He did create our best chance because TAA shot was the closest we came to a goal, he ran 30 yards after a smart turn and put it into a good position for Trent to score.
