I despise Zverev but apparently even he has standards, he called out a man in the stands for shouting a pro Nazi phrase and the Umpire kicked him out.
I’ve plenty links to the clubs playing and backroom staff as many on here know thank you very much. Fair enough, I admire your optimism. But you’re absolute ostriches if you think this squad, even with 2 or 3 new, “cut price” players with potential get us anywhere close

Not surprised Gauff thrashed Ostapenko.  She must have been relieved that Swiatek lost in the previous round.  She's really stepped it up, since losing at Wimbledon.

She's got a tricky customer next, though.

last few days have been disastrous in US Open. Cirstea, Ostapenko are all thrashed. Zheng started pretty terrible too against Sabalenka.

Medvedev was absolutely superb tonight. Played so well on the key points.
His form right now reminds me of his 2021 run when he won it. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same outcome.

I noticed that too.

Shelton has a celebration where he pretends picking up a phone - like he's dialled in - whenever he wins. Djokovic mimicked that after he won yesterday.

He copied Shelton win celebration.
Shelton answered it very well in the press conference(basically said intimation the best form of flattery and he didnt see it still after the match).

Other than hitting the ball really hard, does Sabalenka have any other weapon in her game?

As I type that she attempts an unsuccessful drop ball. So I guess that kind of answers it.

That was phenomenal from Coco. So calm and assured, never panicked when down a set, and an amazing defensive game. It took Sabalenka about 3 times to win each point and she just wore her down. Gauff looked like a veteran out there - right until she clinched it and broke down in tears. She's good people, and it's just wonderful to see.

Delighted for Gauff. She's always looked destined for the top since breaking through at Wimbledon as a 15 year old but with every slam that passed without her winning one the critics got louder and louder. Now she's a grand slam champion and nobody can ever take that away from her.
