A touch of momo sissiko about him?
That's was what I thought when I watched the highlights. Better on the ball though.

Momo was more a destroyer, lacked that bit of finesse-seems quite the opposite for me.

Yip. What we'd all give for a Momo with better ballskill. The lad was part of the best midfield in the world after all. We just love our heroes.

Too quick to jump to such grandious comparisons- it can be damaging to the young lad.

Going off that compilation, very competent debut. It's always nice to have a centre mid who can turn on the ball like that. Given his raw skill and attributes, there could be something there.

Way too early for this thread title though.  ;D

Anyone who was at the game could see the strength and poise the lad has. Get's his head up and plays a bit.
Not time to start eulogising about his future as this wasn't a tough test - but there's a lot to be excited about in terms of talent.

Same thing since Hojbjerg is apparently on the verge of going to Southampton.

Ejaria needs to become faster, he looked a bit slow against Tranmere but he is an interesting prospect.

Just needs to bulk up a bit.

An extra stone or so of muscle and this lad will be a unit. He's in an enviable place too in his career; about to make the jump from academy to first team squad, under the wise tutelage of Messrs. Klopp, Buvac and Krawietz. This is the raw material that they can shape into whatever type of player they want, a perfect example of what could become Klopp's future Liverpool. Of course, let's not get carried away folks, but he's got a lot of talent there for sure.

Tranmere is non league opposition, to be honest would be more worried(for his proffesional career in general) if he didn't stand out.

Based on the two minutes or so of highlights, and my meagre football knowledge my assessment is:

Positives

- Driving runs, has the power and strength to move the play by surging forward
- Physicality, big and strong and looks as if he knows how to use it
- Positioning both defensive and offensive look very good. Made some very clever runs into space and makes himself available to receive the ball

Weaknesses

- Looks a tad slow especially the first few yards
- His lateral speed and movement looks poor. Does not seem to be able to shift it out f his feet and move side to side that well
- First touch needs work

All in all looks a good prospect.

Side note. Who was that big fatty for Tranmere? Number 5 I think.

But he stood out among the Liverpool players.
He definitely stood out at youth level. He looks mega ungainly but as Rafa often said of players 'he has game intelligence'. I like him a lot. Didn't see anything of the Tranmere game so can't comment on that - however I would expect it to have been a lot more physically demanding than U18/U21 level, and if he still looked the part with the senior players, you cannot really ask for more. Arsenal's loss is our gain. Develop him physically and he could be very, very good.

To be fair to him. It is amazing that he is able to compete against really good players the shape he is. He must be good technically as you say to be playing even at Tranmere's level. Good for him.
