I hope he does, and I want him to look at it hanging in his house every morning and realise how lucky he was to have played for us, and how bad his move to Chelsea was (albeit it was driven by a sense that the club didn't live up to its promise of a payrise).

Will be funny if he ends his career in England and the only medal he would have won would be this one.

Don't think so. Final squad gets one, and a handful to relevant key staff. Others usually by club request only.

So what anyway?

I wouldn't expect anybody to. Don't know why you feel the need to make a thread - on the main board - about a player who played his part in the earlist round and now has a medal to show for it (although, looks like there's some saying he doesn't anyway).

It'll mean fuck all, like, but oh well. Nice little reminder of what he left when he looks at his career in England.

Unlike Judas MedalThief, even if Meiereles gets one (say, via ebay because I can't see the club forking out for one specially for the lad) I'm certain he won't be boasting about it and styling himself "Raul Meireles, Carling Cup-winning Portuguese international footballer".

If he pulled on a Liverpool shirt for us then of course he rightly deserves one. But lets see him ever talk about it or even have the bollocks to request one from the club

If I was in charge I would give him one as a constant reminder of what he could have won. Kind of a Jim Bowen at the end of Bullseye :P

Maybe he can use the reflection on the back of it to sort his fucking hair out ;)

Michael Owen probably thinks he scored in the final yesterday. He ran around his garden cheering at the top of his lungs.

You just know the deluded c*nt has his missus write him a letter of invitation to the England squad every time there's an international friendly. It started off as kinky role play. Now she's being forced at knife-point to imitate the FA water mark.

Aye, think so. Either that or the Arsenal match was his last one, can't remember which one came first.

I'd love it if we played Chelsea in the final of the FA Cup with Torres and Raul in their side, and beat them.

We wouldn't have won the Final if we hadn't beaten Exeter and he helped us to do that.
Medal deserved.

There are plenty of more important things for you to worry about like winning a final with one of the worst Liverpool performances I've ever seen in a final.

And I have seen them all going back to 1965.

Now that is worth worrying about..............................
They laugh at me because I'm different.

See that's just not called for. He left reluctantly because the club reneged on an agreement with Cecil to up his low wages after his first season. And Kenny saw him as a wad of cash to help pay for Downing.
