No way will Pepe still be here in 5 years, unless we actually win something.

Gerrard gone, Carra gone to a lower league. Torres back to Spain.

Maybe one or two of the English lads. That's it I think.

I really couldn't say other than that. I think Pacheco and Torres will return to spain, while I think it's in the nature of the above 4 to be lifers. Everyone else is either too old or too inconsistent to make 5 years without a move.

Coming up with a list would've been pretty hard then, and its even harder now. If anything, it's even harder to guarantee that Carra & Stevie will be still here, considering their respective ages.

With the rest, well it all depends on the whether we can get ourselves out of this awful predicament.

As long as the club is back on its feet and alive in 5 years time, that'll be all that matters.

I see the idea behind this, but lets be honest.

Could you name 6 players who will be playing for United in 5 years? Or Chelsea? Or even Arsenal and City?

Nahh, turnover of players these days is very high and so its quite rare for som many teammates to still be together in that time.

CARRAGHER - Will open his 24th restaurant in Milan, where he and Rafa will sit long into the night arguing over how Carragher should have prevented us conceding a corner in the 11th minute of our game against Wigan at home in 2006.

AGGER - Will be producing his 2nd series of Liverpool ink.

SKRTEL - Running a chicken gassing facility just outside Bratislava. The project will be none profit and purely for recreational purposes.

LUCAS - After seeing off stiff opposition from Tony Hibbert will retire after recieving the World player of the year award for the 3rd time while playing for Wolves.

MAXI - Will have returned to Argentina to keep former team mate Javier Mascherano company and console him after his wife returned to Liverpool to live with her lover in Tower Hill.

KUYT - Retires from a failed career in Dutch porn after many disputes with Directors about asking him to perform in too many outrageous positions without a meaningful rest between shots.

GERRARD - Files for bankruptcy following the collapse of his cage fighting business in Southport.

BABEL - Is jailed following a lengthy court case with Nike after he is found guilty of taking boot sponsorship payments for 10 years without the company ever seeing him use them.

COLE - After years in the wilderness following his retirement from football. He returns to prominance after he breaks the World land speed record in a 1986 Austin Allegro.

MIERELES - Returns to the club after his 2 years loan spell with Marine.

JOHNSON - Has his first No 1 single as a Terence Trent D'Arby tribute singer.

So that leaves Reina,Ngog and Kelly.

Bloody hell, trying to think of 6 who will still be here next august is hard enough!
Anyways, my blatantly incorrect guess would be: Agger, Kelly, Johnson, Ngog from the first team squad. That's it!
Hopefully Suso, Sterling, Silva and Amoo will cut the mustard and be in the first team.
Depressing subject but on the plus side we will have messi, turan and pedro pulling the strings in midfield

The bit in bold is extremely unlikely. It's the kind of statement that will almost certainly look daft in 5 years (of course, there's always that chance ...)

I would say that the younger English players are the most likely for 2015, so you'd have to say Kelly and Shelvey look likely to still be here, assuming neither of them wash out talent-wise. I would say Sterling out of our younger players also has a good chance to make it here, and I suppose Reina could stick around if we are ever sold. I wouldn't put too much money on anyone else.

This would make a lot more sense to do in a few months, after the ownership situation is clarified. If we're still owned by Hicks and Gillett in 2015, we could easily be in the Championship (or lower) by then.

It's so difficult to predict who will still be here in 5 years as its quite a long period for a player to play for one club these days, there is so much player turn over. We're very lucky to have one club player's like Carra and Gerrard with the occasional top up of classy red's loyalists like Hyypia.

I first went to Anfield as an 8 year old in 78. Key members of the squad 77/78 squad were (duration of their Red’s playing career is in brackets):

Ray Clemence (14 years)
Neal (11 years)
Phil Thompson (13 years)
Alan Hansen (14 years)
Emlyn Hughes (12 years)
Ian Callaghan (18 years)
Graeme Souness (7 years)
Terry McDermott (8 years)
Ray Kennedy (8 years)
Steve Heighway (11 years)
Kenny Dalglish (12 years)

other key players were Jimmy Case (8 years), John Toshack (8 years), Tommy Smith (16 years), David Fairclough (9 years)

The average Red's career of that lot was 11.3 years, and they were all class.

I think Pepe will have his testimonial here in 5 years. Maybe Kelly and Wilson will be here too.

The rest of the first team squad will be gone I think .
