Not sure if that was a case of how bad we were or how good Real Madrid were. Anyway that was absolutely dreadful, I can't remember a bad as a first half performance like that for years. Countless miss placed passes. We're constantly starting first halves absolutely shockingly and we're deservedly 2-0 down. Could have easily been 4-0.

Seriously, why do we look so slow and knackered this season?

Are the players just getting over the hill? Or are they just physically spent?

Whatever the case, a lot of these players are on borrowed time now. This is yet another alarm bell that this team slowly needs to be dismantled and rebuilt.

That was poor but we’ve still got a game and a half to sort this out. Get a goal back and I think they will panic. Naby lost the ball three times in the first five minutes, which was really how he continued in the rest of that half. Trents header was poor, Wijnaldum has also been poor, no service to the front three. Thought it was a foul on Mane before their second, but we’ve seen that German ref before somewhere in a game we’ve had and I wasn’t impressed then. Keep the faith, we’ve got to sort it, and play with a bit more urgency. Up the Reds.

To be honest I wouldn’t worry about if Keita seemed happy after that half, he’ll be lucky to start a big game again in a while. Could be the last we off him as a front line midfielder. But far from the only one. Have never seen Gini give the ball away so much.

Yes, I suspect Bobby will come on shortly. Thiago was unlucky not to be on from the start, don't think he deserved to miss out. But the main problem has been our lack of being able to keep hold of the ball. Yes, RM have been good but mostly we are giving them the opportunities by being so careless with our passing.

So disappointing after the excitement of the build up.

What can you say when reliable passers like Fab and Gini give the ball away for fun? They’re no great shakes to be honest, but we’re making them look good. And have we won one midfield tackle, or second ball?

Brich is supposed to be a cut above English refs, but that blatant shove on Sadio went unpunished and he got a yellow 5 minutes later for retribution. It was ever thus - honesty in football just doesn’t pay as well as skullduggery and play acting; though in fairness Brich didn’t give anything for their two bits of dark arts nonsense.

If ever there was a message being sent to the players, that was it. I've never seen Klopp do that except for injuries, and Naby looked absolutely fine when he went off. After the match I'm sure the club line will be about a knock or something, but I'm sorry, that won't wash tonight. He'll be going fucking nuts in that dressing room right now, and rightly so.

Him and Klopp didn't look at one another when he went off. He's letting Keita know he's let him down. Wijnaldum, Fabinho and other have credit in the bank for us on the big stage, Keita doesn't.

We've been absolutely awful. The midfield and defense haven't been able to string two passes together. Viniscus Jr. having a ball in the space b/w Phillips and Trent, both of whom are having a bit of a mare. A lot of just very very basic mistakes. I have no idea why we are looking leggy and tired out there. Wtf is going on?

Outplayed in every aspect.

Front 3 non existent.

Midfield asleep.

Back line making mistakes again.

Carry on like this and we’re definitely out. At least at Barca when we lost 3-0 away we created chances and had shots at goal. This is just abysmal.

Only question I have, is Keita injured again, or did Klopp realise he made a mistake by starting him ahead of Thiago.

I don't know if its nerves.. I don't know if its the opponent..
I don't know if it's the shite pitch (lack of watering.. seems really dry and the ball is rolling slow) But all our players are misplacing simple passes.. Leaving balls short.. and in general have a
shocker..

Midfield hasn't got any control and the front three haven't got any service or opportunities..

Everyone collectively needs to pull their finger out and Klopp needs to give the HT team talk of the season.. Otherwise this could get embarrassing in the 2nd half..
