Sturridge will be back in the next two weeks. He is already running and turning.

Possibly the Stoke game. Would be a massive boost, hopefully Stevie will be back by then as well, probably be on the bench tomorrow.

Do calm down. I was certainly not beating anybody. Just musing why an injured player played is all.

Calm Down. Calm Down, others will dont you worry about that, however i fail to see anything in that teply that would get you so worked up, players will always risk it and play injured.

I note the complete absence of PoP from the boards in the last few days.

I feel 'bad' reading, and agreeing with, various posts bemoaning the lack of rotation etc in the absence of his well-timed and informed rejoinders.

Another for the injury list, damn it!

I'm sure BR only fields a player after getting the go-ahead from the physio. Yes, we can bemoan the lack of rotation. Unfortunately, we do not have a Mata or Dzeko or Walcott on the bench.

Anyone know anything about the returns of Allen and Sakho?

I understand Enrique's is a serious injury but what was the time scale on that one too?

Enrique is due to return some time in January.

I think I read a few weeks somewhere on Allen, it's gone a bit quiet on the Sakho front which I find a bit worrying

So Allen and Sturridge should/could be fit for Villa at home, the only league game they will miss between then and now is Stoke away.

Are the dates Pascoe gave when they will be fit or when they return to training?

I think Sturridge has been in light training so should step it up next week. It's all guesswork really, I think we're just monitoring how they go with no fixed return in place yet.

Well if we can get Sturridge on the bench against Stoke and Allen and Flanagan back for Villa then we will look much stronger. Just really need Enrique back and that's a pretty strong squad again.

Good new it seems!

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/mamadou-sakho-hands-liverpool-fc-6478248?

Liverpool FC have been handed a welcome fitness boost with the news that Mamadou Sakho is ahead of schedule in his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The French defender suffered the problem in the defeat to Chelsea on December 29, and it had initially been feared that he could be out of action for up to six weeks.

Sakho, though, has responded well to treatment, and has been back at Melwood this week working closely with the Reds' medical team.

The 23-year-old could even be in contention for Sunday's Premier League trip to Stoke City, though no decision will be taken on that score until later in the week.

If it was a full tear he wouldn't have been able to walk.

Football physios aim to have a player back from a hamstring injury in 21 days. It's been 10 days since then so far, will be 14 days on Sunday. If he's back Sunday he'll be a little ahead of schedule but not too much. He won't start but the club will know exactly how much time Sakho will be able to play if he's available to play.

If Agger isn't available I think Sakho will start if at all possible especially after the debacle of Touré and Skrtel (two right footers) at Hull.

to be honest coming back 14 days into a 21 day expected time out is shaving a 3rd off it, that's pretty impressive.

No way he starts 14 days after a hamstring injury. Like I said the club will know how many minutes Sakho will be able to play from the tests that they do throughout. I'd be astonished if he played more then 20-30 minutes if he was available.

to be honest coming back 14 days into a 21 day expected time out is shaving a 3rd off it, that's pretty impressive.

I don't know the details of his injury so can't really tell but to me it just says the injury wasn't as bad as first feared and that Sakho's body heals quicker than normal. You can't make the body heal quicker than it wants to, all you can do is provide the best conditions for it to heal as quickly as possible.
