Comfortable 4-1 win in the end. Missed the Wolves goal but from that point to our 2nd it was a much more even game, Wolves probably creating the better openings in that period as well. Gordon's first was good, shifting on to his right when coming in to.the box, definitely the sort of finish that'll be handy to have when breaking in to the first team

Gordan's first goals, very nice. Think a few of the under 18's will be moving to the 23s at the end of the season based on this year's performances.

Half time v Man City in U23’s. 2-1 to ADFC. They’ve got the edge on us. Not surprising as they have the choice of about 500 players out on loan at the moment!

2-2 after 67 mins, Hardy with both for us. Woodburn up front with him.

That’s a shame. 3-2 ADFC scored in the last minute. Unlucky reds. 4 mins injury time.

6-1 win in the end. The goal difference of the top 3 compared to the rest in the northern league is absurd

Just watched the highlights of the U18s 6-1 win.  A funny watch.  4 out of 6 of our goals were given away by the Leeds defence within a few yards of their penalty box.  They gave away more than that - or we won more with counter pressing, but just didn’t score from all.  There was another comical moment with Balagizi, who turned his marker beautifully then ran from the wing through to the centre of the box, even beyond the penalty spot, but then seemed to run out of belief when right in front of goal hit it over the top.  He is good to watch and I am not criticising because his play was great, including assists, but that moment was very funny.

I really like Balagizi. Imagine he only has a chance of making it here as a centre mid, which is a hard place to break through. Really want to see him in senior football given a lot of freedom to drift about and pick up the ball to make things happen. Fun player to watch. Annoying were not getting many full matches this year as it's a really fun team to watch in general.

Balagizi looks like one of a few who are already accomplished at the 18s level. The under 23 side next season could look very good if a few of the ones who have already played together at the younger level step up, ie Balagizi, Frauendorf, Musialowski etc. With Klopp already giving some of them a chance to train with the first team they'll be even more keen to impress in the 23s side. If we can get more players impressing at that level then it bodes very well for the first team squad in general.

Kaide Gordon also looks to have made a good start too, that's nice. Though he was already around the Derby squad if I remember reading that right a while ago.

I'm getting Ojo vibes from Balagizi.  Both physically superior at youth level and both have a really casual looking game.  Hopefully Balagizi can scale up his potential when he does break through, but I'm not sure he has the intensity for a Klopp team.

Musialowski looks very interesting.

I think Ejaria would be the more apt comparison, if you could combine Ojos pace with Ejarias technical ability you’ve got the perfect player right there.

i didnt see much of ojo when in the youth but Balagizi really looks a step above the rest in the game. Really does hope he gradually steps up progressively and hopefully play a part in the senior squads.  Musialowski looks a bit small. Might work against him against the neanderthal defenders in this league.

He's around 5'8, isn't he?  That's not crazy small for a forward, Elliott is a midget compared to him.

Yeah he's moves with the ball stuck to his feet at times like Ejaria did. Built more like a senior centre back though and seems to have really good speed once he gets going.

Seems to make good decisions in attack as well, not always greedy and happy to pass to a better placed team mate

I was looking forward to the next round of the FA youth cup tonight, but I cannot see it on LfC tv.  Really annoyed.  The firsts aren’t playing tonight.  They could surely take a Leicester FC feed and put their own commentary on if need be.

Yep, bit weird it's not on. Sometimes they announce they're showing fixtures last minute but seems a bit late for that now. Leicester aren't showing it either so unlikely to be any sort of stream.

Likely Arsenal in the quarter finals, they're 3-1 up against West Ham.

Everton beat Chelsea and face West Brom. Newcastle/Villa and Ipswich vs Sheffield United or Bristol City the others.

Some big words from James Pearce in regards to Balagizi. Really interested to see how he fares in the under 23s next season if that's where he's playing his football.

Reckon that's where he'll be playing his football next year but should be with the first team for pre-season with players away for the Euros and Copa America.

16 wins from 23 in the u18s league and they score for fun. Would have liked to have watched more of the games but by all accounts they've been excellent. Imagine several of them will be making the step up to the 23s next season. Might manage some game time in whatever that new European competition is called, against crack outfits such as Admira Wacker and FC Dynamo Rocketwank.

Yeah, for some of them it could be a great opportunity. The initial breakthrough relies a lot on luck/timing and that would be it for them. Stewart obviously the opposite though, I imagine he'd miss any potential group games when he'd have been pretty much a certainty to get game time and might then end up dropping behind some othets

Yeah, it's a big shame for Stewart. Good job there is a few who have impressed, as if they do get a first team chance and take it the squad will be a whole lot better for it. I know most are only 17 and 18 but they'll still be massively keen if it can inch them closer to game time in other competitions, perhaps even getting in the squad for league matches. If the likes of a Balagizi or someone else can impress in pre season I'd certainly think they'd be in line for the odd domestic cup game too.

any of the U23 forwards have a chance of making a first team appearance before the end of the season? It seems a long time since we had an attacking youth product blooded by Klopp
