Not enough was made about Firmino's "offside" goal and not enough will be made out of this so it'll be conveniently swept under the carpet. Can't wait for Atkinson or some other incompetent c*nt to snatch a goal away from us again because Mo's arse hair was a shade offside.
Mike Dean I think they said was on VAR for our game, either that or the fourth official
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

If anyone is going to put a few fingers deep into my arse it's going to be me.

Have Sheffield United been playing well, or is it mainly down to Spurs being awful?

Thank fuck.

I may have been wrong earlier about it being Marriner - sounds like they just said that it was Moss on fuck-up duty with the VAR.

Graham Scott is on VAR for the spurs game

They’ve drawn the line through the defenders’ head!
How has that been given offside? Was picking my lad up so missed it on the TV but the defenders shoulder is clearly behind the attackers foot, his hand is offside but as you can't score with your hand, unless the officials don't know the rules
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

If this ends 1-1 Sheffield have been robbed here
Just like Watford were a few weeks ago at the Toilet Bowl.

6 minutes stoppage time at Spurs, the first VAR was 4 minutes, then there was another VAR which must have been a minute, so they've only added on 1 minute for other stoppages!

When was the last time they only added on a minute in the second half
However if something serious happens to them I will eat my own cock.

Arsenal: Leno, Bellerin, Holding, Luiz, Kolasinac, Torreira, Chambers, Guendouzi, Ozil, Lacazette, Aubameyang.

Ozil in a tough away game and the two out and out strikers! Leicester could smack these around.

As others have said it isn't the VAR technology - that's working. Its the idiots operating it. In cricket they take the image as is and make a decision based on what's in front of them, they don't start manipulating the image and start drawing lines on it. The system providers have obviously done the maths and worked out where and how to draw the lines, why would you go against the system and start moving them? What next, are they going to start over ruling goal line technology by using the video replay and deciding it 'looks' over the line? You now have to question the integrity of some of these referees who and moving these lines drawn by the system.

They're going too far with this, there is no way that is offside. I can't tell if the knee or shoulder is further forward.

As for not knowing the rules, I once saw us given offside at Anfield from a throw in.

VAR is shown up for a crock of shit every week, yet nobody ever questions whether goalline technology might be just as bent.  Mane’s goal at City last year was ruled on by a fancy CGI graphic so that must’ve been right, eh.

West Ham's form has fallen off a cliff, probably about 3 months earlier than usual. Their goalkeeper Roberto looks shite too. Why they continue to do these bargain-bin type deals is anyone's guess.

The refs don't get involved in the goal line tech though - the corruption is in the human referees not the technology

VAR is shown up for a crock of shit every week, yet nobody ever questions whether goalline technology might be just as bent.  Mane’s goal at City last year was ruled on by a fancy CGI graphic so that must’ve been right, eh.

The difference is that GLT is meant to be 100% reliable, cameras around the goal can see whether 100% of the ball cross the line.   VAR is meant to be as 'reliable', but the referees are using it for subjective decisions so of course it is looking imperfect.

By far the biggest problem with the system is that VAR can make an external decision which impacts the game.  That is to say, it is not the referee on the pitch which goes to a screen and makes a decision, but someone in a control centre telling him 'oh that was a handball you need to give a penalty'.  Then there is a question of whether the angle shown to the referee first dictates their decision - anyone who knows a little psychology knows people are far more likely to stick to their initial decision than change it, so it would be possible to show a particularly damning angle first to try and sway a decision.

At the end of the day you have to accept that refereeing is subjective, you are applying the laws of the game in a way you deem accurate and fair in the moment - and a referee sat in a control room has a different level of subjectivity.  A significant start would be using pitch-side VAR monitors and letting the on-field ref make the decisions, but I do accept that means the crowd has to accept more delays and breaks up the game.
