It's not just about the cost though is it?  The £14m is immaterial when you are talking of the logistics in getting 70 households to agree to move.  Even if you managed to get a CPO you're talking years of legal wrangling before they're all clear.

I'm aware of that, but solely on the cost the club could consider it.  They could also buy now even if they didn't expand immediately.  However, on a purely ethical basis they probably wouldn't want to do that.

Just got back from the ground been a couple of weeks since I posted pictures, flood lights were on in the new stand signage going up above the turnstiles, the path looks really impressive with the red blocks and the trees they have planted along the road looks really good.

They have also put cladding up around the top hiding the air con pipes.

Owned most, if not all, of the ones which back onto the Centenary and sold them for £1 to a developer so they could be viably refurbed and brought back into use.

Definitely sold?  Or leased to a Housing Association so that we can later allow rental period to expire and then demolish at will?  Oh dear, did the club lack the foresight under Moores and Parry to consider that?  Shame.

I'm not against buying up the houses so that the club can develop further by the way - just concerned that it is done efficiently and with goodwill to the current residents.  Don't think that it will happen without some strong-arm tactics though, so for me it's a no-goer.

Sold. I think (has been a while since I looked at the details) to a private company who were then taking on the cost of fully refurbing them (think were in a bit of a state). They look, from the outside at least, that they've been pretty well done as that side of the street looks really tidy.

Club really should have done it themselves and maintained ownership of them though.

Once again a HUGE thank you to all who are keeping us up-to-date with progress by posting these fabulous pictures.
The main stand is an incredible piece of design carefully merging local red brickwork with modern steel and glass: a truly fabulous design.

HOWEVER......

I can't quite believe the few on here who are actually COMPLAINING about the trees. They're TREES FFS! Green! Nature! Healthy! Nice to look at! Support wildlife!

I've been visiting the ground for the last year or so, not to photograph the new main stand development but the centenary stand . There has been no change ...not one . I will continue with this 200 mile round trip for a couple of months more just in case something does change though .

 I have emailed the club but they won't even give me the decency of a response . That's just rude .

I will keep you updated 😉
